Gristmill cabin located on private gated farm just 19 miles from Emerald island beach and Jacksonville right around the corner.Pet friendly cabin offers 2 bedroom with full size beds and all the amenities of home. TV’s in living room and in both bedrooms with Amazon prime, Cinemax, etc
WiFi available. Central heat and air. Kitchen offers dishes, microwave, coffee station and cooking supplies. Bathroom has bathtub and a washer/dryer combo. Front porch has grill, rocking chairs and dining table. There is a pond in front of cabin. Dogs must be on leash when outside.

This place is fantastic! Highly recommend. Kitchen was fully stocked with what you need for cooking. BBQ grill on the porch for use. My small dog loved being able to roam outside while we enjoyed the rocking chairs. The 3 ducks were enjoyable to watch. Beds were very comfortable. TV's in all the rooms. Communication with host was easy and pleasant.

Tucked just off the beaten path, this home isn’t far from everything—you just feel like you’ve stepped away from the hustle and bustle for a while. As you pass through the iron gate, you’re welcomed by a peaceful pond, often visited by a sweet family of ducks, giving the place a calm, cabin-like feel right away.Inside, the space blends cozy mountain vibes with fun little beach touches, making it feel both relaxing and unique. The home has everything you need for a comfortable stay, from a fully equipped kitchen to a beautifully styled bathroom. The clawfoot tub adds a classic, charming touch—though the higher step might be something to keep in mind for some guests.With comfortable bedding, plenty of space, and room for your pets, it’s a great spot for couples or small families who want to enjoy the beach without staying right in the middle of the crowds.Alta is a wonderful host—friendly, responsive, and easy to communicate with. We’d definitely consider staying here again if we’re back in the area.

The kitchen was fully equipped for making meals etc. The refrigerator and stove were regular full sized which would make it very convenient to make and store food for longer stays. The yard was very pet friendly, we brought our little dachshund and she thoroughly enjoyed watching the ducks. The property has a gate which gave us a feeling of security. Everything was clean, cozy and there were lots of extra towels if needed. The hosts were very friendly and responsive. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

The cabin was exactly as it had been portrayed. It was neat and clean. Close to Jacksonville but away from the noise of the city. Ms.Alta communicated with us making herself available. We had a wonderful visit.

This place is great. The property was nice, clean, and quiet. I was visiting my son (U.S. Marine), and we enjoyed it very much. The a/c went out and the owner was there in minutes and fixed it right up. The house had everything we needed, from coffee to paper towels, and dishes. Bedding was nice and comfortable. If you want a home feel away from home, then this is the spot. It is not far from downtown but far enough, so the traffic is not crazy.

This property is the absolute perfect getaway for any occasion!! My partner and I traveled south for a family members high school graduation, and the cabin was so so so perfect. Absolutely everything you would need, from kitchen necessities to all the toiletries, these hosts know how to provide you with a clean, stress-free vacationing spot!! 10/10 recommend, and look forward to staying here again in the future!

Wonderful Kay's Mill

Kay's Mill did not disappoint! This was our first trip to North Carolina and Kay's Mill provided a quaint, clean, and serene landing point to Emerald Isle and all of the surrounding sites. Alta was a gem and attended to every detail. She went above and beyond ans was a such a gracious hostess.

It was quiet, we enjoyed the country feeling with ducks. It was private with the gate and how we entered and left the cabin. Our dog loved watching as we did squirrels, bunnies and the ducks. We felt safe in Maysville and at the clean, very organized and homey with an amazing kitchen. We played in surrounding cities for my birthday all 19 min away. And Asher our dog was welcomed. My husband forgot a cake pan and made a cake for me. We would stay again Alta kept up with us but also respected our privacy.

Adorable, immaculate cabin in a peaceful setting

This is such a wonderful place to stay- looks just like the pictures, but even better in person. The beautiful craftsmanship and lovely decor are pleasing to the eye, plus the comfort of the beds and furniture make this the perfect place to stay. The whole house is well stocked with everything you need including a great complimentary coffee station. The owners live nearby and are very communicative and quick to respond if you have any questions. Do not hesitate to book this perfect spot if you’re anywhere close to the area. We can’t wait to go back ourselves! Really loved the little pond and sweet ducks!
