We're thrilled to offer the same spacious Oceanfront Beach Cottage, with a new guest experience!

Located on beautiful, historic and quaint Amelia Island, INN THE BEGINNING boasts one of the most scenic views of ocean and Intracoastal Waterway along the north end of Fernandina Beach. It is not uncommon to see all sorts of boats, ships and even submarines. Your oceanfront view will also allow you to see varied sea animals, such as dolphins, right whales, sea turtles, etc., and sand dunes to the beach are only 25 feet across a one-way lightly traveled sand road.

This Beach Cottage is very comfortable and sleeps up to 21 people and has (8) Bedrooms and (5) Bathrooms. Sleeping accommodations include (1) Bedroom with 2 Twin XL Beds, (7) Queen Bedrooms, (1) King Murphy Bed (common living space), (1) Double Murphy Bed (common living space), and (1) Twin Roll-a-Way Bed. Inn the Beginning is a typical older, rustic Florida Oceanfront Beach Cottage with lots of its own charm and personality that was built in 1956 and additions made in 1999 and it is remodeled through the years and periodically to make it more comfortable for our guests. The Beach Cottage is great for large Families or Groups, as well as Family Reunions, Weddings, Anniversaries, Retreats, Parties, Meetings and many other types of occasions or events.

There are many other spacious rooms and multiple Oceanfront Decks in this Beach Cottage. It includes a Great Room, large dining area, (2) Kitchens, and (2) Laundry Rooms. It has Central Air Conditioning and Heating and some AC Window Units and individual Heaters.

This Beach cottage has many Ocean Front Decks, Screened-In Porch, Patio, (2) Outdoor Showers and Private Parking. There are additional amenities including Wi-Fi, Cable, and Flat Screen TVs in the Great Room and Dining Room Area.

There are many fun and exciting activities, events, adventures and relaxing things to do on Fernandina Beach and Amelia Island, such as Tours, Festivals, Biking, Horseback Riding, Fishing and Boating, Scuba Diving, Theaters, Golf, Tennis, Spas and many others for all ages, groups and individuals. Also, an Olympic-size Public Swimming Pool with Kiddie Pool and Pool-Lift for wheelchair-bound individuals is within walking distance or 2-minute drive from Inn the Beginning Oceanfront Beach Cottage.

In addition, to assist you with your needs or requests, we provide contact information for all the services you may need for the property throughout your visit. We also have Mr. Will, our Care Taker, whose separate living quarters are located on the property at Inn the Beginning Oceanfront Beach Cottage.

Because this Beach Cottage sleeps up to 21, it can be very affordable for an Oceanfront property that can accommodate this many people.

We are also pet-friendly. There is a limit of 2 pets and type and size of pets must be reported and approved by owners prior to visit.

Thanksgiving Beach Family Time
Beautiful location, views are stunning and to be able to walk a few steps to the beach was a joy! The kitchen and living areas was great. My sister didn't get to come, she ended up in the hospital, but had she come it would have been hard for her to climb the stairwell from the bedrooms to the living & dining areas. The stairs need to be mentioned in the listing, so if there is someone with physical handicaps they would be prepared. Other than that, it was a great place for large families! The owner/contact people were great and wonderful to work with, allowing us a bit early to check in. We were wowed by the fact we could sit in the living room and see the sun rise over the ocean! A jewel!

Unsafe and not like described
First, we would never have booked the property had we known someone lives on the premises. The listing states he has separate quarters, but those separate quarters are on the property. We were not told about this until 15 minutes before we arrived, when it was much too late to cancel or find another property. We also were told the house cleaner didn’t have time to switch the bedding and that there would be clean sheets sitting on each bed, which we would have been ok with. But, not only was there not enough clean sheets for all the beds, but there were still piles of dirty laundry sitting in the rooms as well as dirty towels hanging in the bathrooms. I attempted to call about the laundry situation, but never got ahold of them. At one point, my 6 year old daughter and I were heading from the kitchen to the sitting room, we opened the double doors and the door fell right off the hinges falling directly on my foot. There were also quite a few things that were unsafe for a vacation with so many children (we had a 2 year old, 3 year old, 4 year old, 6 year old triplets and a 10 year old). The front of the oven has nothing to protect it, we found screws and nails on the floor, there were multiple tiles and planks both inside and out that were loose. There are ants in the cupboards, mouse droppings throughout the house, mice seen running under the bed, broken glass next to the refrigerator. As far as check in goes, there was no code lockbox as stated.

This property had numerous safety violations, unsanitary conditions and according to city officials is operating illegally without a Short Term Rental Permit. We had to relocate our family of 18 people overnight. Complete disaster.

Advertised as premier property. Construction in progress, trash on grounds, mold, insects, mouse in bedroom, condensation dripping on kitchen table. Everyone developed respiratory issues during week. Loose railing on deck ( not safe for 2 year old). Good parking for multiple vehicles. Doors (2) wouldn't latch. Should rent for 4200-4500 instead of pricing for premier rental. Good beach access

We had a wonderful stay at this ocean view home. Easy access to the beach. All bedrooms are downstairs with 3 bathrooms down there. Living, kitchen, and dining area and 2 more bathrooms upstairs. Deck is still being remodeled at this time. Stove and dishwasher in second kitchen did not work but other kitchen did. This is an older home but we had a great stay. Suggestions are to update appliances in second kitchen and boost internet as it is slow. Worked great though for our group of 20.

Place is very spacious. This was our third year staying and the place was in better condition this year. Very comfortable and accommodating. What it lacks in updating is made up with view. We will be back next year.

Beautiful view & lots of space!
So much to say about God’s Glory! Pros: - Lots of space/beds/parking. We had a group of 12 with us/6 couples and we all had a bed, with extra beds to spare. - Location - RIGHT on the beach, with beautiful view of the ocean from the outdoor deck - Host allowed us early check-in/late check-out which was really appreciated - Outdoor shower/spicket to wash off feet - 2 kitchens with fridges to accommodate food for large groups Cons: - Construction/updates: Currently there is a large deck extension being built that is about 10% complete. The outdoor deck that does exist is lovely, but there is no overhead shade. There were also some open electrical boxes - No beach toys/chairs, also no beach towels although listing mentions them - A few scary bugs Overall, we enjoyed our stay - we are a group of friends in our late 20s so it met our needs well, but not sure if this would be the best spot for a group with children because of the current construction going on. It was spacious and had plenty of room for everyone but it definitely needs some maintenance and renovation. The outdoor space was great but there was no shade or cover so it was hard to enjoy in the middle of the day and in the rain. Also, please be advised the caretaker lives in separate quarters in the same house, but he did not contact or disturb us at all and was very quiet. Also if you need any local rides we recommend using Scott from DriftwoodandThings.com

The house has plenty of bedrooms and bath rooms. I would like to see the back yard fence repaired and sod installed (for the Dogs). It would be nice to get a TV in each bedroom. Great Location and Cool House.
