Beautiful Condo Just Steps to an Amazing Stroll on the Beach

The Captain's House - Beautiful, newly renovated oceanfront condo ideally situated on the north end of Amelia Island near Fort Clinch State Park and historic Fernandina Beach, just one mile away. Our backyard is the beach! The condo is a southeast corner unit on the ground floor. Once inside, everything is on one level. It features two bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The primary bedroom has a new king-size mattress and an en-suite bath, while the secondary bedroom offers a queen bed with a twin trundle. A desk in the primary bedroom is perfect for teleworking. The living room includes a queen-size sofa bed. Enjoy a private deck for sipping coffee, wine, or reading a good book. Watch dolphins right from the deck! Or search for sharks' teeth and seashells while walking along the shoreline. When you return, rinse your feet in the conveniently located shower on the boardwalk. There are standard and Keurig coffee pots, two beach chairs, an umbrella, and beach towels.

THINGS TO DO

Amelia Island, situated in beautiful northeast Florida, features 13 miles of stunning beaches. While there, plan a visit to Fort Clinch State Park and step back in time as you explore this Civil War-era fort. The park offers biking and hiking trails, along with great spots for fishing. Just north of the Captain's House are Main Beach, the Sand Bar, Salt Life restaurants, and nearby attractions like mini-golf and a skate park.

Amelia Island offers a diverse selection of top-rated restaurants and nearly every cuisine imaginable. Antiquing in some of Amelia's shops is a popular activity for visitors, as is strolling through the charming Victorian downtown area to explore shops, dine at restaurants, or enjoy a sweet treat. The location on the beach was great. Awesome walkout to the beach porch. It wasn't the fanciest place I have stayed (we usually stay in the ritz or Omni cottages.) but it was very nice and the owners has sum great add ins such as coffee cups and shampoo and conditioner. We were there in the winter and when we were on the porch nobody else was. I think in the summer it would be nice to have that section of the porch closed off so others didn't sit there right in front of your sliders.

We had a lovely time. We stayed in this same unit 3 years ago. We love the location directly on the beach while also close to downtown. Our unit was very charming & clean, and the check-in/check-out process was easy & seamless. We would highly recommend!

It was not a good Vrbo rental, disappointing and the mold made us both sick

Super location! Clean, spacious property.

Can’t beat being right on the beach! Really nice condo. Roomy, quiet, modern. Close to everything on Amelia Island. Having washer and dryer was great. Outdoor shower was convenient and necessary to keep sand out of condo.Place was very clean except for stains on sheets. Be sure let host know right away or you can be charged! Beds were decent. Some hangers in closets would be nice - there were only 6 for the 2 bedrooms. A cleaning product would be nice to have. Also, a binder with important things to know would also be nice. The area between the gate and the back of property had some broken glass and a nail and since we saw folks walking barefoot there we picked it up.Pretty area, got to see dolphins almost daily. Beach super clean! Didn’t see 1 piece of trash in 6 days!

Property was perfect for what we wanted—relaxing and comfortable property on and with a view of Fernandino Beach. Onlt a few minutes from the town, trails, parks, restaurants. First floor condo in building with 9 total units. Lots if parking.

You enter the unit through a long, narrow hallway, past two adequate bedrooms and a bathroom, into a small, austere dining / living room / kitchen area, with bright ceiling lighting and mostly bare white walls. It was not my cup of tea.

Great location, cozy beach getaway

The condo was in a great location! Steps away from the beach. The condo was super cute and cozy inside. The bedrooms were large and have comfortable beds. The location is pet friendly as we traveled with our small dog. The beach is right out the back door. I was able to walk the dog on the beach. The town is super cute and historic looking. We ate many local restaurants and there is a spot where you can park on the beach with a great restaurant. The salty pelican was excellent also. This coastal town is super charming and the beach still has a lot of natural beauty to it and doesn’t feel over developed. This is a beautiful location and the condo is in great location with easy access to the city and the beach. We did find a few shark teeth during our stay also. Please note there is a coffee maker but no keurig so plan accordingly. The couch is comfortable and there is a dining room. The other living room chairs are not the most comfortable but they are functional and most people are going to be enjoying the beach and not hanging out in the living room. I definitely recommend the captain’s house especially for families traveling with their dog.

Loved it!
