The land of “Pura Vida”. Our experienced staff can insure your dream vacation through fitness, yoga, meditation to surfing,fishing, golfing or tours. This paradise surrounded by the breathtaking views here in Playa Hermosa, Jaco, Costa Rica.

We have a office on property and a few staff ready to help with tours, reservations, maintenance, laundry service and more.

Emerging yourself in our peaceful community will allow you to bring home the energy that will transform you and your life. We are located on the beach in front of one of Costa Rica's best surfing waves. We have over 50 species of birds and lush landscapes. Just across the street from the rain forest perfect for jungle hikes.

Hermosa Beach House was built in 2007 as a surf hotel and we have converted it into a house/retreat center. The Hermosa Beach House has 3 floors. The 1st floor is pool level and has 5 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, gameroom, bar, catering kitchen, laundry room, grill area, and outside dinning area by the pool. The 2nd floor has 4 bigger bedrooms with 4 bathrooms. The 3rd floor is a condo 3 bedroom, 3 bathrooms, kitchen, livingroom.

We have 12 private rooms with each having it's own bathroom. The Hermosa Beach House is great for family reunions or bachelor parties. Private chef are available upon request. Here in Playa Hermosa there are 2 small supermarkets and 10 restaurants in walking distance.

There are massages on the beach or a sunset horse tour. Our huge pool sets on the beach perfect for sunset cocktails. There is concierge services available 9am-9pm everyday. We are located 4 miles from Jaco where you can find restaurants, shopping and fun night life. We are located 1 hour and 30 minutes from the SJO Airport in San Jose.

We can arrange transportation from the airport upon request.

Couché de soleil magique

La propriĂ©tĂ© est grande , les chambres du haut sont plus confortables que celles du bas . Pour notre gros groupe nous avons cuisinĂ© beaucoup sur place , la cuisine extĂ©rieur Ă©tait limite pour nos besoins. Il faudrait mettre un peu d’amour Ă  rĂ©parer les tuiles cassĂ©es , les tuiles de la piscines , rafraĂźchir un peu les Ă©quipements 
 toute fois les employĂ©s et propriĂ©taires sont vraiment serviables et gentils . La plage est trĂšs longue et agrĂ©able Ă  prendre des marches . Les vagues sont trĂšs puissantes et c’est dangereux pour la Baignade.

Bucket List Checked!!!!!

First of all when we got there looking at the accommodations, every room had its own full bathroom. Three floors of amazing and we filled the entire place. I think our group loved the pool/beach/patio area the best because we could all be together and when someone wanted to rest it was n reason to stop the party because everyone had their own space. 24 family and friends and we enjoyed every bit of our time together. Some of us did excursions while some passed on some. The horseback riding on the beach was amazing and the chef prepared amazing food for us. We could walk to the stores near the hotel and sometimes grab an uber to Jaco. Either way was very convenient. Some of us went on a fishing excursion which they brought back for us all to enjoy and the zip lining was amazing. Our host was amazing as was all the staff. Very fun time and well worth it,

Communication was great! They arranged excursions and transportation for my group of 20 for a business retreat. The staff was extremely helpful and very accommodating. Even when we had an issue, they immediately corrected it and went above and beyond to make it right. Beach and property are great. There were lots of common areas to hang out in or have meetings.

Wedding Getaway

We rented Hermosa House for a destination wedding with our dearest friends and family members. Julie and her crew made it the perfect wedding and mini getaway for our guests! Everyone is still talking about how amazing their experience at Hermosa House was and can’t wait to go back! It was the most relaxing and stress free wedding weekend. They took care of everything from excursions to food when needed.The staff was knowledgeable about the local restaurants, events and all smiles and friendliness. Walks on the beach in the mornings and evenings were a highlight, as well as lounging around the pool and walking on the beach to local restaurants. This is a must stay, especially if you are planning an event.

Wonderful Time

Being it was a former hotel I was a little unsure how it would be but must say the place was even more beautiful than the pictures showed. And that everyone had their own room and bathroom when we were all getting ready to go out at one time was perfect. Host Julie was great in answering all our questions before and during our booking. She helped us with all of our transportation needs to and from the airport and anytime we were headed out and was great help in booking excursions. Was really impressed with her staff as there was always someone there 24 hours a day to help with any of our needs. They were all very friendly and welcoming. We were a family of 25 spread out from infants to old adults and there was plenty of space for all of us to be there together. I would highly recommend this place for your group get together.

Dream Come True

We worked with Julie and her amazing team at Hermosa Beach House to host friends and family for an 11 night stay. Every detail far exceeded my high expectations. From communication, to planning excursions for our guests, to onsite meals and celebrations, this was beyond perfect for our special occasion. There were between 18-21 of us onsite at all times, and everyone had their own beautiful casita to call home as well as the comfortable shared spaces to create lifetime memories together. The beach is incredible, the culture is invigorating, and the people feel like family. Look no further and make HBH your Costa Rican destination!

Family reunion

We had a group of 20 people staying at Hermosa Beach House. Julie and her staff were absolutely amazing
helping us with five separate transports to and from the airport along with making some amazingly delicious meals. Each staff member was accommodating and gracious. Her son Jason helped organize numerous tours and activities, and for a group of our size
trying to get everyone to figure out a plan was no easy task. Each activity arranged was special and memorable. The entire stay was a dream. The proximity to the ocean trumps all else. While it is not a swimming beach, watching the waves and surfers made up for that. The pool was kept pristinely clean everyday. The outdoor seating was perfect for 20 and very desirable to hang around. It was a trip none of us will forget. Thank you to Julie, Jason, Juan, Kyler, Willie, Wilbur and everyone else who made us all feel safe, welcome and special!

Hermosa Beach Paradise

Hermosa Beach House is truly paradise. The house, pool and beach were even more stunning in person. We had a group of 26, ages 6-75 and this property was perfect. We had access to the kitchen to cook some dinners and were able to hire chefs as well. The location is great, right by markets and tasty restaurants, easily walkable. The true magic of this property however, is the resort team. Julie, Wilber, Juan, Gaby, Dixon and the others, are who made this perfect vacation so special. From setting up transportation and meals (we had one dinner and all the breakfasts cooked), booking excursions, and the meaningful conversations. They genuinely wanted us to have the best time. We left feeling like we have friends in Hermosa Beach, and we can’t wait to go back.

Oceanfront resort style VRBO - Pura Vida living!

The Hermosa Beach House was the perfect place for our family to celebrate our mom’s birthday. From the moment that we booked with Julie, we felt like we were in good hands, and boy did that end up being an understatement! She was always available to answer our questions, arrange activities for us from yoga, massages, horseback, riding on the beach, a monkey tour, the day at Manuel, Antonio National Park, a hike, a special birthday dinner, fire show, and incredible homemade fresh meals enjoyed outdoors, looking at the ocean. This is a wonderful destination for a large group who wants a clean spacious house with lots of outdoor living with spectacular scenery and amazing sunsets. If you are looking to experience a laid back, casual, local surf town and get a more authentic experience then you would get at a resort, then is the place to go. We will definitely be back!

COULD BE GREAT
 BUT JUST OK

This is a beautiful location, right on the beach with massive potential. However, at the price of 14K for a week, it is hard to overlook the many deficiencies. This is one of those places where the longer you stay the less you like it, and that mostly comes down to level of service, and a lack of reinvestment in the property. We loved the huge pool and spent most of our time there. We didn’t love how difficult it was to get the staff to clean our rooms or freshen our towels, the overpriced personal chef recommended by Julie, or the random friends of Julie’s wandering through the property to use the outdoor shower or do yoga on the lawn (with our children and valuables lying about). Most of the interior is showing it’s age and somewhat shabby. Peeling paint, mold on the ceilings, toilets that wouldn’t flush, showers that wouldn’t turn on consistently, a broken oven, and a poorly stocked upstairs kitchen were just a few things we noticed. Overall, the experience was just OK and wasn’t worth the price when compared to alternatives. We enjoyed our time but won’t be back.

50th Birthday Celebration Trip

I booked this property to celebrate my 50th birthday with friends & family and we were not disappointed! The property is about 2hrs away from SJO Airport so prepare for the journey but it’s all worth it! The sunset alone is worth the drive! The property is nestled right on the black sand beach just outside of Jaco. The staff and owner are extremely helpful with all your needs; from decorating for your theme parties to washing your clothes after the ATV ride! Julie was so helpful setting up transportation for us no matter what we wanted or where we went. The only drawback was all the rooms aren’t technically under one roof. All except the top floor for have external doors to enter from the outside. Each room as at least 2 beds and most have fridges and microwaves. Each room has its own bathroom which was great! The top floor is a separate 3bdrm apt with living room, kitchen and dining area. No biggie for us. We can’t wait to go back! Thank you Julie for helping make my 50th birthday the best one yet!

AMAZING!!!

Our group just stayed 9 nights at the Hermosa Beach House. Julie was beyond helpful dealing with everyone’s questions and helping us book our excursions/transportation/chef. The house crew were so nice and go above and beyond. The grounds were always well maintained. We saw a turtle laying eggs the first night and a hatchling the last night. We had an incredible time at this fantastic beach house! The cleanliness was top-notch, and the comfortable sheets and pillows made our stay comfortable. Being just steps away from the beach and a short stroll to a beach bar with fresh ceviche was a dream. The sense of safety with someone always on the property was reassuring, including overnights. Julie, our host, was simply amazing, catering to all our needs and ensuring our trip was flawless. Our group hasn't stopped raving about this vacation—it was truly the best! Highly recommend this place for an unforgettable vacation.

Magical stay

We were so grateful to stay at Hermosa Beach House. The property is truly picturesque. Our family of 20 (ages 3-75) spent most of the time at the common area around the pool. Pool has a large shallow area for little ones, plenty of space for big kids and adults. Picnic tables and kitchen by pool make it easy to prepare and serve meals to a large crowd and enjoy the view. We used a chef several times and we’re very pleased with the meals. The hotel staff was so kind and kept the place spotless. Special thanks to Hayley for all her help fielding questions and securing transportation and excursions. Several delicious restaurants within walking distance. Beach area has amazing sand and surf but not safe for littles due to rip tide and caliber of waves. Overall lovely stay. We plan on returning again soon!

40th Birthday in Jaco

Words can not describe the care and thoughtfulness we received from Julie and her staff! This was the trip of a lifetime for most of our guests! From the very beginning of booking Julie was very present and attentive to us and was constantly checking in to see if we had any questions or special requests. Not only was she a wealth of information but her staff was completely on the same page. Shout out to Haley and Ivan for dealing with our groups craziness and never batting an eye! We are a fun group but not the easiest at times. I would stay with Julie and her staff for ANY large event you have or just for fun. You will receive 5 STAR service at Playa Hermosa Hotel. Excellent and spacious

Our family enjoyed our stay. Plenty of space for larger gatherings. The third floor has a nice kitchen layout where we able to spend lots of time together. We enjoyed massages and had a yoga instructor come to the home. What a lovely stay. Thank you.
