Comfortable. Well stocked. Excellent communication with owner. Nice pool and water view. 5 min. walk to beach and covered area. Beach is gone at high tide with a higher sandy area to walk. Quiet and convenient.
Host was helpful and informative regarding check - in and amenities. Condo was clean and well stocked with linens etc. Even had some pool toys. Our family really enjoyed the stay, especially the sea views in the mornings.
I stayed for 3 nights with my wife and 2 teenage kids and it was great. Nice beachfront property with great balcony ocean view on 2nd floor, comfortable beds, very quiet area of the Villas by the Sea condo complex/resort (which has a terrific restaurant âJekyll and Tideâ less than a 5 minute walk from the complex). And this unit is a short 10-15 minute walk to the famous Driftwood Beach which was awesome. Tommy was very responsive to the few questions that I had.
This rental was for a significant anniversary which was mentioned initially. Specifically asked about the gym facility listed onsite. Owner did not state that facility was closed due to repairs. Property was listed as beach accessible. Found that the ramps leading from property to beach had been damaged during hurricane last fall so no direct beach access. Owner was not considerate or understanding when we mistakenly misplaced a key card. Shower first evening at residence had no water pressure. This was corrected the following day. Cobwebs found in various locations, including bed and light fixtures. Windows and glass doors were filthy. Would not recommend.
The property features a view of the ocean from the master bedroom balcony and access to a shared pool. It's about a 20-30 minute walk from both Horton Pond and Driftwood Beach. There is beach access at low tide adjacent to the property. It's on the less developed side of the island, but still only a short drive to the tourism district. Great place to enjoy what Jekyll Island has to offer.
Kitchen was well equipped and the openness of the condo was perfect for family togetherness. There were plenty of towels and the beds were very comfortable. The huge pool was just a short walk from the condo. The sunrises were breathtaking.
This property had some issues. The floors & top of stairs were dirty. Lots of dust & cobwebs on lights. No beach access because the stairs were damaged & have not been repaired. Worst of all were the bugs in the upstairs of the condo. Flying carpenter ants by the dozens. We kept killing them & they kept coming & crawling all over us, even at night when trying to sleep. We mentioned it to the owner & they just said they were harmless. Tell that to a terrified 5 yr old trying to sleep. They need to hire an exterminator.
I cannot say enough about the beauty of Jekyll Island!! and staying here was absolutely PERFECT! The location is terrific - close enough to get anywhere on the island easily. Tommy, the host, is fabulous!! He was so easy to communicate with about anything and everything - before we came, while we were there, and even when we were leaving! Unfortunately, we couldn't walk down to the beach right in front of the condo while there, because they are repairing the steps and having issues with the town but walking over to driftwood beach is an easy 5-10-minute walk and so worth it! The pool is large and clean and only a 3-minute walk!! The Georgia Sea Turtle Center is a must see! The Jekyll Island historic tour is fascinating and the biggest surprise of all was the incredible restaurant - Jekyll & Tide restaurant right there at the condo village!!! it is absolutely top notch! I am definitely planning on coming back and really hope I can stay here again!!
This property was very nice for our family. The pool area was great and being able to walk to driftwood beach is a plus. Jekyll Island is such a peaceful place. We came for the Turtle Crawl 5K. Enjoyed delicious seafood and yummy frozen yogurt at Beach Village. The drive to the beach to play in the water is very short.
Overall, we enjoyed the condo and the area. A very pleasant and beautiful spot and cozy condo. Short walk to Driftwood Beach, and hiking trails. Since we stayed for five weeks we bought an annual parking pass for 100 rather than 10 daily parking. Was a relatively short drive to Brunswick to pick up whatever we needed. Plenty of restaurants and shopping in the area. When we first arrived (Saturday at about 4:15), after an 8 hour drive, we had to do a lot of running around because the door key didn't work. After asking us if we were using the key properly Tommy told us to go to the front desk to get a new keycard made. That key didn't work either. We called Tommy back and he said he would contact maintenance. In a while maintenance came to let us into the condo. They observed that his keycards should have been recharged some time ago, but that they could not do so until the following Tuesday. Calling Tommy back, he suggested we exit through the patio door and not lock it when we left until Tuesday. Was our only option so we did that, keeping valuables in the car until then. Those first few days, we also had to clean up bits of broken glass that we kept stepping in on the main floor - luckily not sharp though. We repaired the patio door screen that was downstairs (none upstairs), wiped some footprints(!) off the walls and re-cleaned the upstairs so we were comfortable. Maintenance showed up on Tuesday morning and fixed the keys in a couple of minutes. Maintenance people wer
We enjoyed our stay. The owner was very nice and communication was good. We loved the quiet location and having no one above us. Our overall stay was pleasant, a few things we didn't love. The water pressure in the condo was low and refrigerator was loud at times. The stairwell floor was a bit dirty and the kitchen isn't accommodating for those interested in cooking. However it is still a nice condo with a great location.
Perfect trip. Had kitchen to make dinner. Lots of things to do and see.. beautiful views. Super easy check-in. Owners kept in touch to make sure we were settled.
We loved the island. The place was clean and right on the ocean. Quick beach walk to driftwood beach. The owner checked in on us by text to make sure everything was good and we had everything we needed. Very nice owner.
Prime location, clean and cozy accommodations.
My arrival was scheduled the day after Hurricane Helene tracked thru the region and there was a power outage. Thomas Pickren's text communication was exemplary. He provided me regular updates and allowed me to check-in a day later and out a day later after power was restored.
