( for this listing these are private rooms for the owners and can be unlocked if your party is larger that 8 guests - just let us know if you are interested in a larger booking!

Also, friendly reminder -this is a beautiful & rustic country property/house, it is not a luxury hotel. There are critters, deer and turkey, etc. running around the property and making noises. The house is old and occasionally still creaks a bit. Bob Allen and his wife Marie were passionate about their home....and some say you can still feel their presence!

If you are looking for a true country escape/experience, then you have found it.

Thank you for considering our family property

Idyllic Country Home
This rambling estate has all the charm, warmth and comforts you could possibly want in a country Manor. Comfortable beds, all the amenities, large Woodburning fireplace, extra space heaters for warmth, and extensive grounds. All situated conveniently close to village of Julian. We definitely plan to return for another visit.

No heat
Surrounding property is beautiful and the house is interesting but would not advise anyone to stay here when it's cold. When we arrived, the living room and kitchen area temp was 46 degrees. We stayed in only 2 rooms--our bedroom where we had a heater that warmed it up and a family room/bedroom that seemed to have its own temperature control. It never warmed up enough to use the living room where the television was. We were told later that we needed to bring wood for the fire place and that would heat up the room; however, there was nothing to start a fire and although told we could use their wood, it was outside in the rain. We saw the manager when we arrived who told us we were 20 minutes early and the one room would heat up before the others. We had intended to fix breakfast there but it was still only 53 degrees in the living room/kitchen area so we just left. This would be a wonderful place when it's warmer especially with children but we paid for four bedrooms and could only use two of them which meant my daughter had to sleep on the couch because another bedroom would have been much much too cold.

excellent
just as described. in addition, we had a blow out tire 1/2 to nowhere. i texted the owner and he immediately directed us to a tire service facility that resolved that issue. we arrived late and were greeted by a herd of deer munching whatever in the recent snow. Tired and hungry, the owner gave several excellent suggestions that were spot on.

Truly beautiful place
We had a hard time leaving this property as it was so lovely with so much to see. The house was so charming! So much character and history in every corner and yet it was still homey and comfortable. We felt very at home with our kids and our dog and we had everything we needed for our stay. Everything was very clean and well taken care of . The views around the property were absolutely stunning. It was a short drive into the little town which was nice. Marking this down in our favorites, we would love to come back!

Great location!
Wonderful location, just a short drive into Julian, hiking areas or the Julian Station area. My family especially enjoyed the very large fenced property where our kids and dog had a safe and wonderful time exploring.
