We had a wonderful stay at Papakea Resort! The location is perfect for families, with plenty of space for the kids to play and beautiful ocean views to enjoy. We loved being within walking distance to food, coffee, and a convenience store, which made everything easy with little ones. The grounds are well-maintained and the pools were great for our family. We would love to return in the near future!

Location, location, location! If you want beautiful ocean views, daily sunsets, and all the amenities this is your spot. The kitchen was well stocked, they provided beach chairs, towels, cooler bag, and even had extra water shoes and pool noodles! We had 4 adults and 4 kids and all fit more than comfortably. My only complaint would be that the bedroom with two queens doesn’t have AC and can be a little noisy at night since it’s right by the outside hallway, but that wasn’t anything that couldn’t be remedied with the provided fans and some white noise- even in July! All around excellent spot- we liked it so much we even looked to see if any units were for sale.

Spring break 2025

Great location and the condo was comfortable for our family of 5. A little noisy in the morning being a bottom floor and next to the elevator. One issue we had was the condo has a roach problem. Assume this is the whole “K” building. All other issues were quickly attended to by the management company. The check in process was easy. The resort amenities were perfect for us and the grounds are well maintained.

Very nice location

Overall we had a very nice stay. The Papakea Resort is a fantastic location, we loved having the two pools which meant neither was every too busy. It was mostly quiet - the first week extremely so, the second week there were a lot of very loud guests (lots of kids screaming at the pool in the evening, people shouting across the green) which was less pleasant but I guess it's what you sometimes get on vacation. The condo itself was nice - a good space for a family staying a few weeks. Loved being able to walk right out to the pool or to look at the ocean (we could see whales all the time!). It was generally clean, but no matter what we did (kept ALL food in the fridge, cleaned several times a day) we couldn't keep the bugs away from the kitchen. Definitely an aspect of Hawaii living on the first floor, but it was unpleasant. Really appreciated that they provided a travel crib and high chair on request. The rooms were very comfortable and we had everything we needed overall.Communication was... plentiful. We got way too many blast emails and texts from Gather that had the same information over and over again. We also had a hard time getting quick or consistent responses from the property manager. We had a maintenance issue that didn't get resolved for a week and we are still waiting on a refund for a billing issue - no response at all yet. It worked for us overall, and we loved the location, but I think we'd reconsider another place next time.

Great Property!

This resort has a great pool and hot tub and is located close to so many great beaches and activities. It also included several beach chairs and towels and an umbrella. Enough to accommodate my group of 7. We would highly recommend this property.

Beautiful property, perfect location

This property is beautiful and held all the amenities needed for our group of seven. The condo itself was spacious, clean, and up to date. The location was perfectly placed near put out golf, the pool, and just a few steps away from the ocean, all while walking distance from several stores/restaurants, and food truck park. We very much enjoyed Java Jazz for breakfast during our stay, which was just a short walk away.

Check in early.

We arrived early so we checked to see if could check in early. They said no. Do we went to pool area and hung out. We found our unit and it looked ready. We called and asked again about getting in the room again we’re told no. The excuse was they forget to put hand soap in the bathrooms put when finally got in they had new containers and 1/2full ones. Over all it was very well equips but we had 3 forks for 4 people. They did get us more the next day. If you like to make mixed drinks they had lots of different bar ware options but if you want a drinking glass not so many options Little things. The biggest problem was the back bedroom did have its own air conditioner and it was a warm room. The windows in both bedrooms is very thin. If anyone was outside your room you could hear everything and it echoes

I have visited this resort many times over the years and always enjoyed my stay. But I have to say this stay people were very noisy, slamining doors, yelling late into the night. Sense this has never happened before it makes me wonder if the resort is under new management.

Beautiful Property

If you are looking for a place to stay while exploring the west side of the island, this is a great location. The unit was clean and the kitchen well stocked. Loved being on the ground level and just a quick walk to the pool are and ocean. The property has beautiful gardens and you have a partial view of the ocean from the patio. It worked really well for us!
