This hotel was lovely, definitely worth staying if you’re in kaikoura. Everything feels fresh and new still. Check in was a bit slow but I think the hotel was busy so lots of people asking questions at the reception desk. Annoyingly the car park was full when we arrived so it’s worth keeping in mind that parking is not guaranteed but we were able to find street parking close by relatively easily. Pool was nice especially as it was heated, there’s a limited number of loungers around the pool but we didn’t have a problem finding a spot. You can also order food and drinks via a QR code to the pool. The restaurant is really nice, we had dinner and the food was delicious.

We loved staying at Sudima Kaikoura. The hotel is great, the room was very spacious for a family of four and the view of the mountains and the beach was spectacular! The kids loved the pool also. The location is great, a short 10 minute walk to the town center and there was free parking all along the beach. We’d definitely come back!

We did not get a very good room to see the ocean even though we booked 2 of them. Staff is nice except for one lady at the restaurant who may unpleasant. She may just have issues unrelated to us.

The check in process was smooth with concierge actively helping with bags and finding what you needed. Rooms were clean and adjoining. We ate at the restaurant and it was fine for happy hour drinks and small plates. The pool was heated (but still not very warm). The location was nice and it was the best of the lodgings during our month-long travels.

Great hotel, clean, modern, parking available and comfy beds. Staff friendly. The restaurant gets very busy worth booking ahead. Seafood fettuccine was disappointing- no real flavour and not that tasty. Calamari was excellent. Kids choices sufficient and they provide complimentary drawing activities.
