SO YOU KNOW: There will be construction at Kona Reef throughout 2026. It's really not that bad. Please keep reading.

THE GOOD NEWS: Construction in B-Bldg where my unit (#B34) is located is finished.

MOSTLY QUIET: B-34 faces the beach and you should hear more wave action than construction from the lanai.

QUIET DAYS: The schedule includes blocks of time for weekday inspections, etc, which will be quiet days.

If you tend to be out and about weekdays – beach, sight-seeing, farm tours, golf, scuba – you you'll hardly notice the construction. And the property will be quiet and peaceful evenings after 4:30pm and weekends for you to enjoy the pool, hot tub, pavilion.

So if you're not discouraged, prices now reflect 10% discount! If you have any questions about construction, send me an inquiry.

You're gonna love your Kona Reef Beachfront getaway. Imagine the big smile on your face when you walk through the door of this lovely renovated, top-floor, jewel of a condo... a place you get to call your Kailua-Kona "home" away from home.

What's not to love? You can enjoy the "local-style" ambience and convenience of the in-town walk-to-everything location, while being in an oceanfront complex with a great ocean view. The public beach right next door is super convenient for swimming, snorkeling and surfing. From sunbathers to yoga classes, to picnics and people-watching, the view from your top-floor lanai provides a different beach scene every day.

You'll be charmed by the beachy, eclectic, tropical decor -- a blend of retro "Hawaiiana" with a touch of understated whimsy. Enjoy the top-quality finishes, selected to convey a simple warmth as well as durability. Split-system Air Conditioning installed Dec. 2020 keeps both living room and bedroom cool. The expanded kitchen features bamboo cabinets, white "cloud-like" quartz countertop, art glass backsplash, and shell mosaic pendant lighting. The bathroom was inspired by the colors of sand and sea, and has a custom walk-in shower that features a rain head, bamboo glass panel and handy corner seat. Sturdy bamboo-pattern vinyl flooring ties everything together to complete the natural ambience. Your top-floor lanai is the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing breakfast, or watch the waves and beach activities. You might be inspired to head on down to the beach, where you can picnic, wade, swim, snorkel or maybe even join a yoga class. The condo comes equipped with back-pack style beach chairs, boogie boards, snorkel gear, beach towels and more for your convenience.

You will also enjoy the convenience of:
o FREE password-protected, high speed WIFI signal
o Digital Cable TV package
o In-unit front-loading washer and dryer
o Elevator access from parking garage to the patio level. (You have to walk several paces from the elevator, then up 8 stairs to the condo level. If you require "no stairs", unfortunately, my condo is not a good choice for you).

But as much as you will enjoy the amenities of the condo, (... did I mention the super-comfy, firm memory-foam, gel-top king-size mattress?...) you didn't come all the way to Kona to stay indoors! There is so much to do and see. You'll want to spend some of your time chillin' at the oceanfront swimming pool. We have one of the nicest pool/recreation areas in town--with plenty of lounge chairs, whirlpool spa, barbecues and shady pavilion.

Kona Reef has one of the most convenient locations on the Kona Coast, and is just a short walk to shopping, restaurants, bars and entertainment.

It is a 5 to 10 minute walk to:
o Honl’s Beach (right next door!)
o Luau at the Royal Kona Resort
o Bars and restaurants
o Shopping
o Bicycles for rent

This is more than a hotel room
 it's my downtown oceanfront getaway, and I like nothing better than staying at the unit when it is not booked. My home is your home, and I love it when guests tell me a little about themselves when making a booking request.

About the Air Conditioning:
2-unit split system for your creature comfort! The living room and the bedroom each have their own wall A/C unit. There are also ceiling fans and standing fans if you prefer to experience the ambient temperatures. It's all about what you're used to. ALSO: Due to the high cost of electricity in Hawaii, when you leave the apartment for extended periods of time, turning off the AC is greatly appreciated.

This place is very special. We really enjoyed our stay. The entire unit was very clean when we checked-in. It has a really good view of the ocean. All of the appliances worked perfect. Everything you needed to cook your own meals was available - from pots and pans and utensils to spices, cooking oils, etc. There was even a little greeting basket full of coffee, candy, cookies, etc.Marni was absolutely fantastic to work with. She was quick to reply to questions and was always really polite.

B34 was so thoughtfully equipped! Plenty of dishes so we only ran the dishwasher once through the week. All paper products, trash bags, laundry detergent, soap, etc was provided and we were specifically asked to request more if needed! Marni was super easy to work with too. One restaurant to add to your list is Umekes near Kona Brewing Co (also a fun place!). The fresh ahi at Umekes was amazing!

Perfect location

This condo is wonderful close walking to town it’s a lovely place with wonderful amenities and decoration of home . Sit on balcony for wonderful view of the ocean . Paradise Perfection!

We absolutely loved our stay at this beachfront condo! The unit on the top floor and overlooks a small beach with beautiful ocean views. It's fun to sit on the lanai and watch the activity at the beach and body boarders and surfers ride the waves out front. The beach is a bit rocky at the entrance so it's not the best spot for casual swimming or snorkeling but there are plenty of places a close drive away for these activities. The unit itself is nicely decorated and well appointed with amenities including a good supply of beach gear (snorkeling equipment, body boards, cooler, chairs, beach towels etc.). The grounds are very nice and there is a swimming pool, jacuzzi, BBQ area and a grassy strip of lawn with chairs right in front of the ocean (great for sunset views). My wife and I found the bed to be very comfortable as well. Location is also great, with a short walk to downtown Kona and multiple restaurants and shops. The owner, Marni, was great on all communications and responded promptly to any questions or comments we had. My wife and I kept commenting on how expensive accommodations like this would have been at a hotel, not to mention the added benefit of being able to prepare some of your meals at home and enjoy on the lanai with ocean views. As a side note, for activities on the Big Island, my wife and I really enjoyed the sunset / stargazing tour on Mauna Kea and nigh time snorkeling with the Manta Rays. I highly recommend this place for a great visit to Paradise!

Perfect Stay

The condo was perfect for our short visit to Kona. Lanai with a view of the ocean, full size stackable washer & dryer, bathroom products, plenty of towels, everything you need is provided. Easy walk to town & restaurants. Very good communication with owner. Highly recommend this property.
