Hotel basic but good. Pool and sports hall facilities excellent for familes, especially if visiting nearby Europa Park. Breakfast good, but restaurant and bar openings erratic. If walking from Kenzingen Station, first entrance very confusing - no indication of reception.

Good hotel for the money

After reading some reviews from the summer I wasn't holding up much hope. However, I was pleasantly surprised. It's slightly confusing on arrival maps says it's on your right. As you come over the bridge it is on the right but you need to turn left to go under the bridge to get to the carpark. Check in was easy and the lady was very friendly. The hotel is quirky as it's a sports centre too. Some corridors are quite dark. We booked for the pool and it looked lovely unfortunately our kids weren't well do we didn't use it. The main entrance shuts at 10 so I would use the other entrance when leaving so you know how to get back in. Also, you can check in after ten but you need to prearrange this so you have a lock box number. The room for 4 was spacious and clean. It was unusually hot the night we stayed so the room was very hot. There were two fans and the window opens completely. Breakfast was as you would expect for Europe. Bread, eggs, fruit etc. it was perfectly fine. There's a McDonald's and burger king and petrol station. Lidl 5 mins drive away in herbolzhiem. Kids wanted macds. So we didn't try the restaurant. I would stay here again and hopefully use the pool.

Not a great stay

Pool can only be used between 7-9 pm as members have use the rest of the day. No curtains in the room so you have to have the shutters down and can’t open the window, we were there when it was 34 degrees, no air con and pointless fan in the room, couldn’t open window. We were meant to stop for 2 nights but only stayed 1 as the room was so hot it was making us all feel ill. Food in the evening was over priced and not great. Breakfast was very lacking, couple of bread roll lefts and a bit of cheese. Dead spiders and flies everywhere in the breakfast room.

closed front door

problem with hotel entrance closure On arrival was informed front door closes at 10pm and one has to use the back door entrance with room key, What is not said or fully told is their are TWO rear doors one for rooms 31 upwards and for rooms 1to 29 they do not fully explain this and my wife myself and our great grandson aged 8 found ourselves locked out at 8PM ON SUNDAY night, and we could only find 1 rear door WHICH DID NOT GIVE US ACCESS TO OUR ROOM, no worriestheir is a phone number on the receipt NO THIS NUMBER NO LONGER IN USE try number on front door THIS NUMBER NOT AVAILABLE EVEN AFTER !10 MINUTES OF REDIALLING, If it had not been someone hearing my wife shouting for help we probably would have had to spend the night in our car, PLEASE PROVIDE A FLOOR PLAN SHOWING WHERE ACCESS IS it is not rocket science.

Sporthotel als Unterkunft fĂŒr Europapark

Wir sind im Sporthotel gewesen, da es ein Schwimmbad hat indoor und ein gutes FrĂŒhstĂŒck. Es hat uns auch als StĂŒtzpunkt gedient um zweimal in den Europapark zu gehen. Im Dorf selber kann man gut essen und das Nachbardort hatte einen riesigen Anlass, wo alle ihre Velos verkaufen konnten mit einer Band auf dem Hauptplatz.

Es war wieder ein schöner Aufenthalt fĂŒr meinen Sohn und mir. Ein besonderes Lob gilt dem neuen Teammitglied Dillon an der Rezeption fĂŒr seine souverĂ€ne Art und Freundlichkeit. Desweiteren ein freudiges Wiedersehen mit Petra von der Rezeption. Der abendliche Burger und das morgendliche FrĂŒhstĂŒck war super. Vielen Dank und bis nĂ€chstes Jahr sagen Christian und Hayden.

Mit dem Zimmer und den Betten waren wir sehr zufrieden, alles war sauber und wir haben gut geschlafen. Der sehr niedrige Wasserdruck in der Dusche machte das Duschen fast unmöglich. Ansonsten war auch das Badezimmer fĂŒr uns völlig okay.

Es ist eigentlich ein Sportcenter (viel Durchgangsverkehr) mit ein paar Zimmern, unseres war im Keller. Steckdosen und Kabel hĂ€ngen lose rum, riesige Spinnen im Zimmer, TĂŒre wackelt bei jedem Luftzug wie wenn jemand daran rĂŒttelt. Bad war gut. Hallenbad okey, Sauna naja - Ruheliegen im Durchgang der Saunen direkt gegenĂŒber der Duschen. Weg zum Zimmer lang und trostlos. FrĂŒhstĂŒck war gut fĂŒr den Preis.

La personne de l'accueil Ă©tait sympathique mĂȘme si elle est arrivĂ©e en retard quand nous devions rĂ©cupĂ©rer notre chambre. Il y avait un gros problĂšme avec l'eau durant notre sĂ©jour nous n'avons pas eu d'eau chaude dans la salle de bain. Nous l'avons signalĂ© on nous a dit qu'il fallait laisser couler pendant 10mn pour que le chaud arrive Ă  cause de leur problĂšme du jour. Nous avons essayĂ© sans succĂšs. Pas de savon non plus au nivesu du lavabo il Ă©tait vide. Il y avait Ă©normĂ©ment de poussiĂšre au sol dans la chambre, sinon literie ok. Mon mari et mon fils ont testĂ© la piscine et ca allait Ă©galement. Le petit dĂ©jeuner Ă©tait basique mais pas mauvais. L'hĂŽtel est situĂ© au calme et pas loin d'europa park.

TrĂšs mauvais expĂ©rience. ArrivĂ©s dans notre chambre, elle sentait littĂ©ralement le vomi, dans la salle de bain et la chambre. Comme personne Ă©tait Ă  la rĂ©ception, nous n’avons pas pu ĂȘtre relogĂ© dans une autre chambre. Nous avons donc pris la dĂ©cision de rechercher une autre chambre dans un autre hĂŽtel (vers 21h45).
