Shower Room: Cubicle Shower, Heated Towel Rail, Toilet. Electric heaters, electricity and bed linen included. Travel cot and highchair. Wifi.. Enclosed lawned garden to front and rear with patio and picnic bench. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking. . This semi-detached former railway cottage enjoys an idyllic setting above a disused railway cutting and the River Derwent. The cottage benefits from elevated views towards Skiddaw, the tip of Blencathra, and Latrigg, to the rear. There are 17 fells visible from the front bedroom, from Cat Bells to Grizedale Pike. Inside the rooms are comfortable and cosy, yet quite spacious, with two living rooms crowned with an ornamental fireplace . It is situated on a low hill, surrounded by fields, yet only 1 mile from Keswick town centre and ½ mile from the village of Portinscale. There is a footpath along the river into Keswick, where you will discover a wealth of amenities, or Portinscale is a 10-minute walk and boasts a pub, cafés, restaurant and marina. Shop 1 mile, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

Relaxing getaway

A comfortable house in a beautiful location. Quiet, private, easy access to Portinscale and Keswick. Trees, birds, garden , fells on every hand. Highly recommended.

The kitchen was well equipped and the living areas were comfortable.

The kitchen was well equipped and the living areas were comfortable. It's close to Keswick and lots of walking is easily accessible within a 20 minute drive. It has a supply of games and a set of Wainwright books. There's no wi fi and the 4g signal is variable - enough to message if you want but not consistent enough to stream anything. Towels were provide when we stayed, the info online suggests that this is not the case. The property is close to the A66 so you got traffic noise in the garden but the house is quiet. The wardrobe in the main bedroom smelled a bit damp. There's no washing machine but there is a washing line, pegs, a clothes horse and an electric clothes airer if you choose to wash clothes.

Comfortable cottage with magnificent views

We found the property to be exceptionally well-equipped in every respect except for the lack of Wi-Fi. This was a disappointment for us, and I suggest the Wi-Fi should be removed from the listing if it is not available. We loved our time at the property, especially the walks into Keswick along the river, hill walking and bike rental.

We really enjoyed our stay here it's a beautiful cottage in a great location the walk in to Keswick is beatiful provided you have the weather, it's well equipped barring having no washing machine which as the weather was fine caused us no problem and that's with two small children. All in all difficult to find fault with and I would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting a peaceful break with the convieniece of being in striking distance of a beautiful market town
