Situated on the shores of Derwentwater, the fells are accessible from the doorstep and the town centre has excellent amenities. Other outdoor activities available locally include mountain biking in Whinlatter Forest, kayaking and sailing on the lakes, rock climbing and ghyll scrambling to name but a few. The ‘not so fit’ may prefer gentle strolls around the town’s parks and shops, partaking in the café culture on Keswick’s pedestrianised market place or a trip on the launch around Derwentwater. Across the road in Fitz Park is an excellent children’s play park, the Keswick Museum with café, a bowling green and the Keswick Leisure Pool is adjacent.
