There's a restaurant on site. You can enjoy a drink at the bar/lounge. WiFi is free in public spaces. A terrace, barbecue grills, and a garden are also featured at The Horse & Farrier Inn and The Salutation Inn. Free self parking is available.
The location was great and canât fault that. Reviews gave a very different impression, the accommodation was certainly adequate but there was a window pane missing and boarded up in the bedroom, the dishes needed a wash and the sofa and bed werenât comfortable (sorry). It served as a great base to explore, and the space upstairs was fantastic but on rainy days found it a bit tricky and the wifi didnât work. Could get better signal in bedroom upstairs and the property was also warm. A great stay for the money, but I wouldnât stay here thinking itâs 10/10
A great spot for our weekend in the lakes. Staying in the self catering cottage it was clean and tidy and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. Great value for money.
Just had a really enjoyable stay at The Horse and Farrier in Threlkeld. The staff are excellent and go above and beyond to make your stay memorable. The accomodation was excellent, very clean and tidy with great views. The food for both breakfast and evening meal was truly delicious and the selection of real ales was top notch. Easy to walk into Keswick along the wagonway or get the bus from right outside. Would totally recommend.
My second time at the H & F. What a wonderful place to stay. Lovely tasteful rooms, superb food, incredible staff and most important of all an excellent choice of locally brewed well kept ales.
A very friendly and helpful Landlord and Landlady who made us feel very welcome. The twin room was relatively small but perfectly adequate for an overnight stay. The bath towels are outstanding in size and fluffiness!!
The breakfast was very good in deed.
Overall - excellent value for money. Highly recommended for an overnight stay with a hearty home cooked breakfast.
Place was warm and parking good. However would not stay again. No wifi, our room was too far away from the booster, however 3 ppl gave me a different reason why it wasnât working which were all in conflict. Many dishes were dirty, there was still rubbish left under the sink previous occupants face cloths left in the freezer and no toiletries. Very disappointing.
Lovely inn dating back to 1688. Food was delicious and the rooms were cosy. For those who are on the taller side, it's worth noting that as part of the charm of a building built in the 1600's, you will find yourself having to duck underneath the doorframes!
Friendly and hard working staff, lovely, clean room with fan available. Shower was great!
Hot chocolate was a nice addition as well as the usual tea and coffee.
Vegetarian breakfast was very nice.
Fantastic cottage, just 5 miles from Keswick. Small and quaint, everything you need for a week away. Kitchen well stocked, private outside area to sit and chill of an evening. To big bedrooms, one with an ensuite plus a main bathroom. Real value for money!! I would strongly recommend and stay!
