Coastal Cottage

The location of this historic 80 year old property is pretty darn perfect. Beach front but also close to some great dining and shopping options. Avalon pier is a short walk down the beach. We loved the modern updates while keeping the charm of the original look and feel of most of the house. While beautifully updated, the kitchen accessories need a refresh. There is also place to store dry pantry items so many sat out on the counter. Although we had a bit of a rainy week, we enjoyed sitting on the ocean facing deck where you have an unobstructed view. So beautiful and relaxing. Be careful while on the deck as the boards are old with a few nail pops. I feel like a new deck and furniture may be on the ‘to do’ list. All of the bathrooms are beautifully updated and appointed. Bedrooms are spacious and while not all have closets there a lots of hooks and drawer space provided. Our group enjoyed the hot tub, pool table and large tv in the basement. A large dining table enabled us all to eat together and provided ample space for playing games. This is an older home so some imperfections are expected. They did not hinder our enjoyment of this historic gem. It is charming and provided everything we needed for a fun family vacation.

Great beachfront stay!

Hidden gem right on the beach in Kill Devil Hills. The outside may not look as nice, but it is nice and updated on the inside and great quality overall. Just a few steps to the beach, which was not busy at all! Great outdoor spaces to watch the waves. Close to many great restaurants (of various price/cuisine varieties) and things to do. Greg was quick to respond to any inquiries. We would definitely come back. We had a great time!

LOVE this house!

Prime location for fishing pier, restaurants, or just to sit on the porch and enjoy the sunrises and waves. Because this house had beach access within a few short steps, we would go back and forth all day. Hot tub was great, loved the kitchen, the front porch swings were so relaxing, everything was so nice. Thank you, Greg. Can’t wait to come back & make more memories there with my husband, 2 kids and dog.

Beautiful Beach House

We really enjoyed our week's stay in this house! It is right on the ocean and sunrises are just amazing. It is close to everything and the place was immaculate. We enjoyed dinner and drinks especially at the following places: Jolly Rogers for breakfast, Mama Kwans for lunch, Trio for lunch or dinner, Mulligan's for lunch or dinner...SeaGreen art gallery on Virginia Dare was awesome....Go to the Aquarium and Elizabethan Gardens one day ( they're within 4 or 5 minutes of each other). This house is one of our favorites. We've been coming to the Outer Banks from Northeast Ohio for about 15 years and always stay right on the beach.

Relaxing Spring Break

We loved this property! We traveled here for spring break and were thrilled with the beach access and roomy house. The house set up was perfect for our family; all the bedrooms and bathrooms were very convenient. The kitchen was beautiful and we were able to watch dolphins swimming in the ocean while drinking our coffee. Would definitely go back!

Nice, quiet, peaceful week stay

Great communication. Nice property, nothing beats sitting on the back deck watching and listening to the waves enjoying a beverage. We had no issues with anything whil we were here. Timeless Treat

The property and location are wonderful. It is right on the beach and the view of the waves at all times of the day and evening is beautiful and relaxing. The gas fireplace keeps you warm and cozy on a cold evening, and the kitchen has everything you need to create a wonderful meal. There is a bathroom for every room that gives guests the privacy they need and the beds are comfortable. I highly recommend this property.

Lots of space!!!

We were a group of 6 adults and one child under 3! Loved that 3 of the bedrooms had attached bathrooms so each set of adults had our privacy! Plenty of room to spread out with a rec room on one level and sitting area and large kitchen table on an upper level. We spent mornings having coffee on the front porch on rocking chairs and the evenings on the back deck overlooking the ocean! Can’t get better than that! However it does! House was very clean, plenty of towels, beach chairs, and beach toys. Kitchen was well stocked with all necessities including plenty of spices! We spent most days on the beach that was steps away; however, grocery store, restaurants, miniature golf, parks, etc.. are minutes away. This beach house was homey with a family cottage vibe. Brought back great memories of weekends spent at a family cottage up north.

Great old cottage

Great property that is reminiscent of the old cottages of the outer banks. That’s exactly what we were looking for - old charm and modern amenities. All four bedrooms are private and isolated from each other. No neighbors to the north, which makes view from oceanfront deck even better. There is a lower covered porch with old-style awnings. Great place to hang out in the evenings with a breeze. Some boards above this porch were falling and letting debris down onto porch floor. I let host know and he was quick to respond. I went ahead and cleaned it up because I wanted to enjoy the porch sooner rather than later. Some other deferred maintenance on exterior (thus 4 stars on cleanliness) but otherwise house is fantastic.

Best vaca yet! June 2024

Making memories! By far the best vaca yet. It was my husband and I and our 3 grown children with their significant others, and one dog! We all had our own space, the set up was wonderful!! We each had our own bathroom and at night we hung out at the pool table and played games. I can’t think of anything else we needed. It was perfect! Cannot Wait to come back. Homeowner really thought of everything. So nice having extra chairs and the beach cart! I cannot say enough. Very clean and spacious.
