I was expecting clean but basic facilities for the price of the room. Basic yes, but the rooms were damp with an overbearing smell of bleach and insecticide in the bedroom and - shall we say drains in the dischevelled bathroom. The blinds were broken and held together with string. To be fair, the sheets were clean but there was no hot water. We were advised on checking out after one night that there was a switch for a water heater on the outside of the building, but nobody had bothered to tell us. The "village" was situated up a very bumpy road which you would probably not want to walk along in the dark and to be honest had a rather sinister feel. To be honest, we could not wait to leave.

Lovely quiet location with sounds of nature, dining outdoors with lovely gardens, amazing pool! Peacocks and other birds keep you company at breakfast. Room quite basic but does the job, hospitality was very good, as is the location for Sigiriya and national parks. Highly recommend!

Wow, this place is absolutely amazing and beautiful, with so much wildlife right at your doorstep! You can see elephants, monkeys, peacocks, and tons more. The hotel staff were fantastic too. I’d definitely come back and stay here again. It’s such a beautiful hotel!

Very boutique style hotel, you will feel like you have a private hotel, very quiet, not many rooms, service is amazing very personalised and everyone is so nice and helpful, also location is good close but secluded, and many wild animals around the gardens which is great. food is delicious, and room are spacious. Very happy with all, super recommended.

The food and service were really good. The owner and manager made us feel welcome and took care of even the small needs. The pool is great and the property borders a lake so you'll be away from the crowds while still being close to Lion Rock. The rooms had AC, were spacious and comfortable but could use some more love.

Stayed 3 nights in a twin room. Exactly like picture with balcony area overlooking back of lake. Breakfast was plentiful. Only had dinner once but the food was very good. Staff are lovely and the pool area is very relaxing. Beautiful Peacocks on the property.

We stayed for 3 nights Denis and the staff were so lovely and helped us with organising safari and hiking, only a short drive to town, best place we’ve stayed in Sri Lanka can’t wait to come back

Det var dejligt og godt for miljøet, at der ikke automatisk blev gjort rent hver dag. Luften på værelset føltes en smule fugtig, men vejret er/var også fugtigt, så det er nok svært at holde helt tørt. Hotellets have er fantastisk. Man er nærmest på safari under frokosten, hvor påfugle, andre flotte fugle, jordegern og varaner befinder sig i træer og græs. Personalet er så behageligt.

Amazing people! All the staff were extremely kind, and the manager organized our entire stay, advising us on the best places to visit, the ideal order to see them, and even stepping in as our driver and guide for a day. The location is also great: quiet and peaceful, yet only 15 minutes from Sigiriya Rock. The rooms were comfortable. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to make the most of their stay in Sigiriya!
