Staff are very friendly, they were above and beyond...I had a zoom meeting and was stress out were to take this call and manager and staff accommodated me in one of their offices so I could take the call. Rooms are spacious and you will see a beautiful garden around every single room. I would definitely recommend this place to stay.

The best parts of this property are the grounds and the friendly staff. The food in the restaurant was mediocre. The wifi is terrible everywhere. We had no water for an hour on two of the three days we stayed there and I had to call the front desk multiple times to restore water. The beds were uncomfortable and they skimped on the pillows. The rooms are damp, so nothing fully dries. There was nowhere to sit in our room except on the beds or two uncomfortable dining chairs. The bathroom was huge, and we never understood why there was an entire room within the bathroom for, well, something, not sure what. The towels were skimpy and thin. All in all, this is a two-star "resort" charging four-star prices. There have to be better options in the area.

Canadian here. They lied and deceived. They had promised by email 3 beds. After signing they then said wifi was spotty. It didnt work at all. Having to walk in the dark to use the wifi in the lobby was not an option. We needed to book tickets and find directions with wifi. Got to room and no fridge for medicine or drinks. Big gaps in doors and a beetle dropped on me from the closet. It is an unsafe, walk back to lobby, was dark and poorly lit. People complainng toilets wouldnt flush. Pool area was overgrown. Dont believe the pictures. I requested a refund and they refused. I screenshotted the communication from the mananger telling the receptionist, no refund and insulting me. Thanks google translate. I will be requesting refund through Expedia and my credit card. All this was false advertising. They probably gave my old room to the guy who needed a working toilet. Regardless, we didnt stay. Read all the reviews. All we wanted was a clean, safe place to stay and enjoy our Costa Rica vacation. Don't let this one place discourage you, everyone else have been kind and service has been exceptional everywhere we go from the parks to the restaurants. We are not at Marenaz Oceanside near Manuel Antonio. Fabulous location and staff amazing. Beautiful beach location and great value. Safe and clean!

I don’t normally write a review but feel I must. This hotel is not what we were expecting 1. Staff are unfriendly, they look tired and overworked. Don’t want to be there. 2. Our room’s bathroom smelled like gas when I raised it they said they fixe it. Felt unsafe due the strong smell. 3. Toilets were getting clogged which meant more bad smell. 4. Breakfast is the worse I’ve ever had. For what you pay for the breakfast was super poor. I’ve been to cheaper hotels that offer more. Also breakfast ends at 9:30am and you get really bad looks if you get there at 9am. Overall super outdated hotel for the price.

Outdated rustic hotel

Very basic, rustic and outdated hotel. No adjoining walls in our unit and quiet. Hot water in the shower but not the sink. Poor value for money but not unusual in Costa Rica. Walkways poorly lit at night and slippery when wet. Had a great meal in the restaurant but breakfast was a bit disappointing. Plenty of birds around and also saw a venomous Coral snake by the open air restaurant. Pool area was popular with families. Can’t drive car up hill to unit, but staff brought luggage to/from rooms on electric golf carts. Room had good A/C, OK WiFi but was very dark at night. Light switches were inconveniently located and not many electric outlets ( typical in the time the hotel was built). Away from the noise and traffic of La Fortuna.

Excellent location, nestled in the forest, close to all activities. The rooms were gorgeous with great attention to details with amenities such as personal pool, jacuzzi, etc. Although it rained half the days we were at La Fortuna and we were travelling with a baby, the fact that our villa was surrounded by nature, allowed us to enjoy the rain forest vibes. The hotel and restaurant staff were friendly and considerate.

Don't eat at the restaurant!!!!

Our room was very clean and the pool was great. However, the tin roof on room 405 was extremely noisy. The rain and what ever was dropping from the trees made it vey hard to sleep. Also there were a lot of animals not too far away making a lot of noise. The restaurant is ok for breakfast if you are ok with birds eating the cereal before you get there. Evening meals....below sub par!!!!

The view at this resort was beautiful. The pool was a big hit with our family and ee werw able to get a taste of the wildlife (toucans, other birds). The rooms were beautiful, clean and spacious. The facility was well maintained. I'd recommend this resort for couples or for a family. A 15 min drive from the town center. Perfect if you have a vehicle.
