Charming hotel with friendly staff!

Pros: The character of the hotel is great - it's not cookie-cutter like most chain hotels tend to be. Also - very comfortable beds!
Lovely hotel - the beds were very comfortable and we didn't really notice any noise from guests in the hallway or traffic in the parking lot. Plenty of hot water in the shower was also very appreciated! The pool looked nice but we didn't have a chance to try it out. Also, at both check-in and check-out, the ladies at the front desk were very pleasant and helpful. This was our second stay at the hotel in the last few years, and if we're back through here again, we will definitely return!

Quaint Yet New

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet, laundry room, library, pool table, indoor pool
Depot Inn was really nice and the theme of the rail road depot was carried out throughout the Inn. It was newish, clean, most of the staff was very accomodating, the morning staff the last day seemed to be a little less so. Breakfast consisted of cereal, pkg'd donuts, bananas, and your choice of coffee, milk, tea, hot chocolate, and OJ. The last morning there were no bananas and we were told they were on their way, but they never showed up. They also had a game area and a laundry room with washer and dryer. Overall very nice visit.

Highly Recommended, Treat you like family!

A group of 4 of us set out on an Amtrak trip to this hotel. We could not have been more pleased with our stay. Brock was waiting to pick us up at the station in the courtesy shuttle van. He was very polite and helpful. He offered us the use of the hotel golf cart to go to the local convenience store and even ran to get towels to wipe the seats that were wet from the rain. When we asked him to change our room to a front view he did so in a very friendly manner. All the people that worked there, including Sally whom we got to know, could not have been friendlier. The manager sat with us to apologize for a very small incident. This place made us feel as if we were family! We had chosen this hotel specifically because we are train watchers and the hotel has now spoiled us for any other hotels we will ever stay at. Even though the train track is not right by the hotel it is close enough that you could hear trains all night long. The decor was a total train theme. The richly painted walls with the bright white accents and the crown molding were perfect. The rooms were spotless; the beds were comfortable with plenty of pillows and warm comforter. The towels were plush and plentiful. The pool was warm and very clean. The lobby was spacious with a pool table, games, a large TV and a monitor of the train track so even back at the hotel you didn’t have to miss seeing a train. We ate a simple complimentary continental breakfast and coffee was always available. We were amazed at all the train memorabilia. It is almost like a museum.
