THE SPACE

Design house located in the old Port of Portmán.

A recently refurbished cosy space ideal for groups and families of up to 9 people.

It has 4 bedrooms, two bathrooms with shower each, a toilet, a large dining room with kitchenette, and a large private terrace on the top with pergola, barbecue and solarium.

Three of the bedrooms have a double bed (180x200cm), and the fourth has a double bed with canopy (160x200cm) plus a single bed (90x180cm).

The house, fully equipped down to the last detail, also has a storeroom for parking bicycles and storing diving equipment. Perfect for sportsperson.

A few minutes’ walk from the beach, the house is located in a unique setting, typical of times gone by, for lovers of authenticity.



THE SURROUNDINGS

Portmán is a town in the region of Murcia, located at the foot of the Cartagena-La Unión mining mountain range, in a bay bathed by the Mediterranean Sea. It was founded by the Romans in the 1st century, Portus Magnus (Puerto Grande), the origin of its present name.

The house is located in what used to be the old fishing port, nowadays unusable. It is a site under construction, due to the closure of the bay for cleaning and environmental regeneration to remove the waste caused by decades of mining activity in the area. The project is currently at a standstill, but we hope that in the near future the bay will regain its splendour, and the house will once again be located on the seashore.

The area is of great historical and socio-cultural interest. A journey into the past in an area of contrasts, where the remains of the area's mining activity coexist with the luxury of the La Manga Club golf courses (54 holes, 10 minutes away by car) and the wild beauty of the area's beaches, especially the Calblanque Regional Park, where there are a series of beaches and small coves characterised by their fine, golden sands and their almost virgin state.It has a surprisingly wide range of local cuisine, as well as being a paradise for sports such as hiking, cycling and diving. Cabo de Palos is home to numerous diving schools and is the starting point for the best diving excursions in Spain, as it is next to the Islas Hormigas marine reserve, which stands out for the variety of fauna and the large meadow of Posidonia, as well as the numerous remains of old sunken ships.Portmán is also just a few kilometres from beautiful Cartagena, one of Spain's most interesting historic cities.
