I was disappointed by the response from the receptionists here when I informed them twice about the hot water in our shower being cut off for two evenings throughout our short stay here. When I informed the receptionists they seemed to be aware of this issue already with apartment one. Still putting us in this apartment despite a known issue made me and my mum feel that we didn’t get the standard of stay others may have had. Nobody should have to skip two showers at a luxury hotel. This did dampen our perspective of the overall stay. The waiters/servers were wonderful so thank you to them, although we won’t be returning.

Absolutely superb

This was the best resort we've ever stayed in. We were blown away by how spacious the 2 bed apartment was. We are 2 adults and 3 children. My teenage son slept on the sofa bed. This itself was quite big. It looked bigger than the double and was very comfortable. There was a spare wardobe/cupboard in the lounge for his bedding. The bedding in all rooms were luxurious and of high standard. Plenty of towels for all of us in both bathrooms. I loved that they were provided with bath mats. This is something ive always had to bring along with me. The kitchen has everything you could need a dishwasher and washing machine! We managed to have family over and cooked a meal for 7. Plenty of space at the table with a spare stool. Each room had cupboards and plenty of drawers for everyone. Curtains were lined and black out. Heating came on auto, so swimming towels and costumes dried easy. There was a henry hoover, ironing board/iron and hairdryer. We brought our own percolator but there was a coffee machine. Unfortunately for some reason our chromecast would not connect to the TV. But we didnt mind. The grounds are beautiful, picturesque and peaceful. Everyone is so friendly. Welcoming and attentive. We were a stones throw from a small park, so some evenings we could sit outside on our patio furniture and watch our children play. Ducks came to visit and that was the highlight of my 4 year olds holiday. The apartment was large with plenty of room for my kids to run around. Pool was warm

Disappointing

Average at best. The hotel itself is in a beautiful location but that’s when the wow factor ends. The room was okay and outdated and felt more like a budget apartment with very few amenities and a cold shower. We were awake at 10.30pm by mucus above us and the walls were so thin we were woken up anytime someone walked past our apartment. Despite saying we were celebrating an anniversary there was so effort to inform us of any extra packages available to purchase etc. I found the whole experience lack luster. Additionally despite the gym being ‘included’ it is a surplus charge for non members. Whilst the location is lovely the inside has a very budget hotel feel and lacked any warmth. You can definitely get better quality and service elsewhere.

Our two bedroom apartment was amazing with views of the duck pond. Now we know this resort is here we will come back often. Very spacious rooms and the indoor pool and steam room were really nice. Don't worry about the ghosts!

Room was comfortable, Kitchen well equipped but only 4 tea bags, 1 coffee sachet, 2 dishwasher tablets for a 2 night stay. Sofa bed was quite heavy to pull in and out. Pool was lovely, grounds fantastic and very quiet. Overall we had a lovely stay.

Great get away option

We enjoy our stays at Thurnham Hall. There was a problem with hotwater supply to our block, we were kept fully informed, given alternative showering option etc. 'It' happens, we judge it on how its handled, and it was handled well.

Mixed feelings about our stay. - Staff were very friendly - Apartment smelt and was, very clean. - Apartment well equipt for weekend. We did not self cater. What we didn't like: - No food available. We were told the restaurant was full and we could not be accomodated, even if we wanted to take food to our room. - Radiators gurgled all night. Maintenance came, and they were better the next night, but still noisy. - No breakfast available. I should have done more research rather than assume. - Felt like an economy airline as we had to pay extra even for towels to use the pool. - Text from hotel suggested a 3* and below is a negative review.

What a find!

What a find. Self catering accomodation with Hotel facilties. Beatiful old house and our Studio apartent was very spacious and clean with lovely views of the grounds. Had one evening meal in the Lemon Tree restaurant which was excellent. Enjoyed the laid back entertainment in the Hall.

Ideal quality accommodation for short stays.

Everything was top notch apart from the poory lit pathways to the accommodation. In the dark it is very difficult to find where you are going particularly if it is one's first visit. Otherwise no complaints whatsoever.
