Escape to our charming little cabin, nestled on 15 acres of rolling pastureland and Christmas tree fields in the serene foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Built in the 1940s as a tenant farmer’s home, this hidden gem sits quietly up the hill behind our big old farmhouse, offering privacy and tranquility. Relax on the porch, watch the birds, and stargaze under clear mountain skies.
Located in Ashe County, in North Carolina’s northwest corner near the Virginia line, you’re just minutes from adventure:

-15 minutes to Grayson Highlands State Park
-20 minutes to White Top Mountain, Mount Rogers, the Appalachian Trail, and the Virginia Creeper Bike Trail
-Steps away from Helton Creek, a local favorite for fishing, just across the road

This is the second visit to this property. I enjoyed my stay there as much as the first time. Really like that it's a quiet peaceful place with birds, deer, rabbits and a nice view. The spring/stream running beside the house is great to listen to. The lightening bugs are also a hit with us. It's nice that the kitchen has small appliances, and also a few things in the bathroom that you may need. Plan on going back again, hope it's not 4 years before I can do it. I really like this place.

Perfect little cabin for a relaxing weekend!

We loved our stay! It is so beautiful and so peaceful on this lovely farm. The cabin was very well stocked, comfy beds and everything we needed for a hiking weekend in Grayson Highlands. Just book it!

Girls Weekend for Trail Run at Grayson

Perfect location for our trail race, very comfortable cabin, beds very comfortable, had all necessary supplies and extra to make stay enjoyable. Loved seeing the deer and cows while sitting on the front porch. WiFi was great! Very happy with stay.

Host is extremely communicative and makes the stay easy. Had a last second adjustment, she was able to help, and was very fast to respond making the process very smooth. Love this part of the country. Have stayed here twice and will likely stay here again.

Late October Hiking Trip

Lovely cabin - I rented this for myself, a friend, and my dog for a 2-day hiking trip. I appreciate that each of bedroom had its own bathroom and that there was a little trail up the hill where I could walk my dog. We had a little snafu with internet availability in the unit, but it ended up not being an issue because hiking took up most of our day. Communication with the hosts was excellent. Ben kindly drove the route to Grayson Highlands Park ahead of my trip to verify the roads were clear after the area was hit by flooding - as Grayson had reopened by that point - and he also helped us with directions while we were getting in the first night. They did warn us cell coverage would be spotty and it was. My friend had Verizon and I had AT&T and we each only had one bar, but it was usually enough to get directions locked into Google Maps before the app switched into offline mode. Overall it was a lovely stay. We hiked Grayson and the Channels and seeing the stars on the hill behind the property, without light pollution or trees to block the sky, was beautiful.

A Hidden Gem in the Mountains!

My husband and I plus our dog Bodie recently stayed at this charming mountain cabin, and it truly exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the cows next door and the cool mountain air. The cabin itself is the perfect blend of cozy and rustic, with every detail thoughtfully curated. The living area was spacious and comfortable, with a beautiful wood stove and tv with all the streaming services that made our evenings relaxing and snug. The kitchen was well-equipped, allowing us to prepare meals with ease while enjoying the deck. We especially appreciated the little things like spices to cook with, olive oil, and various toiletries. We were particularly impressed by the attention to detail in the dĂ©cor—every room had its own unique character, and the cabin had all the modern amenities we needed without sacrificing its quaint charm. The front porch was a highlight, offering a serene spot to enjoy morning coffee or an evening glass of wine while taking in the sounds of nature. The location was ideal for exploring the nearby Grayson Highlands and enjoying outdoor activities in Lansing and West Jefferson. We found the local recommendations provided by the hosts to be incredibly helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable. We enjoyed the cabin. A mix up on dates so when we arrived the cabin had not been cleaned. However the owner was very responsive and reimbursed our cleaning fee. So we were pleased. The lady that came to clean was very friendly. The cabin could use a few modifications (nothing major) for example it would be nice to have a full length mirror inside the cabin, the furniture in the living room is outdated and not to comfortable after a long hike and the table on the front porch needs replacing, The cabin was supplied with all necessities and that was extremely helpful The showers were great and bed was very comfortable. My sister and I truly enjoyed our time away hiking at Grayson Highlands, visiting Jefferson and just relaxing at the cabin.

Beautiful mountain cabin

Great place to stay, very nicely decorated, comfortable and clean. It’s very peaceful and private, you can sit outside on two seperate decks, on the one in the back we enjoyed breakfast and in the evening we used the barbecue. Lots to do in the area, and so nice to have such a beautiful place to come home to after a busy day!
