Hawthorn House Launceston

We have been listed with Stayz for 15 years.

Hawthorn House is a family friendly property. It has a large backyard and is fully fenced with a childproof gate.

This house has 4 bedrooms -2 have queen size beds, one has a set of bunk beds and one has two single beds.

Hawthorn House is conveniently located in the Launceston suburb of Invermay. It is a short walk or ride to many venues. UTas Stadium, the home of The Hawks when in Tassie, is 2 blocks away. The Seaport area contains a boardwalk along the Tamar River and a variety of cafes and restaurants with car parking. The Aquatic Centre is a fun family affair where you can swim or sit and keep an eye on your children. Pools have beach entry. A licensed restaurant is on site or use the cafe poolside for lighter meals, ice cream, lovely hot chips and hot and cold drinks. The City Park provides an area for children to let off steam and use up that energy at the playground which has a BBQ area too. In February the City Park hosts Festivale, a celebration of Tasmanian food and drink. Churchill Park/Heritage Forest is a large area nearby where you can take a pleasant walk and end up at the children's play area and BBQ's are undercover.

The Inveresk Precinct is just past University of Tas Stadium and houses the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery, University of Tasmania Arts Academy, The Tramshed, cafes and off street parking. Hawthorn House also provides easy access to public transport, The Gorge, cricket centre, tennis centre and Launceston's CBD.

Like a Warm Hug

Lorraine is an amazing host and Hawthorn House was a trip down memory lane. It was cozy and warm on arrival and Lorraine had left some little treats. (I wont ruin the surprise). The rooms are spacious and the beds cozy with electric blankets. The kitchen is well stocked and we appreciated milk already in the fridge so we could have a cuppa with real milk when we arrived! Its the little things that make this accomodation awesome. Hawthorn House is walking distance to UTAS (York Park) and some yummy breakfast options including a French Patisserie. We had a ball and our beloved Hawks had a big win. We will be back! Thanks Lorraine!

Great stay

Great location for the football at UTAS Stadium. Very clean and plenty of room for 4 adults. Would definitely recommend this place, especially if you’re going to the football, as it’s only a 700m flat walk to the ground..

Gorgeous Old House!

The host was very accommodating as we arrived in Tasmania in the evening. Such a beautiful old cottage style house. Off road parking and close enough to Launceston and also the Uni in Newnham. Wish I'd been able to stay longer!

The best Home away from home

Arrived early, not a problem. Met Lorraine who was very helpful. The Home is just stunning. I call it a home not a house, you feel that this is your home, there was not one thing I could see that anybody could complain about. A Pleasant Stay

A home away from home. A very pleasant experience with everything one could ask for is provided. I would recommend this holiday to anyone wanting a relaxing and comfortable holiday home. This has been our second stay at this abode and probably wont be the last.

Superb House for a family stay

Hawthorn House was completely as advertised..beautifully clean and well appointed with lovely amenities. The house was close to everything in Launceston and the off street parking and security was excellent. The beds were comfortable and the house was warm and toasty when we arrived. The recommendations for local places to eat were helpful, the WIFI enough to please teenagers and a fully equipped laundry super helpful. We were really happy with our stay. We would return in a heartbeat and cannot recommend highly enough.
