Welcome to the revived "Ole Hosey Homeplace"

Come stay at this quaint farmhouse built in Laurel, MS in 1945 by the only family who resided in the home, the Hosey's, now a working longhorn cattle farm. Although it was revived in 2021, the renovation was meticulously designed to keep it as original as possible. Make some memories at this unique and family-friendly place. Plenty of space inside and out. Great areas for family pictures. Great location in the countryside of Laurel, and only 4 short miles straight to downtown Laurel.

Home for the weekend
For an intimate, memorable, private, safe and controllable environment, “Ole Hosey Homeplace" beats any hotel with noisy guests and a slamming door at 3AM. The host, the Walters, were kind and accommodating. It also offers the outdoors which is wonderful on its own especially if you are an “early upper” morning person. It was built in the early 1940’s and has been updated to remain comfortable almost 80 years later. This property is clean, convenient and comfortable. It is located roughly 10 minutes from downtown Laurel/hwy16 but feels a world away. It would be perfect for a family with children old or young as it has wonderful floor plan that allows an everyone some “quiet room” if needed. It would also be perfect for 3 couples or any group of friends. The kitchen is equipped with all you need for basic meals. The internet is zippy and steady. All bedroom have TV’s that offering streaming. The dining room provided the perfect setting for dinnertime filled with laughs and memories. The sunroom/enclosed porch overlooking the pasture was where our 3 20’s year old children spent most of their time. There are games, board games and Jenga. The basket with some of the most tempting snacks known to mankind was a major hit with our family and did not make through the visit. 😁 Would we return here in the future? A resounding yes. It was an experience and not just a stay. Thank you to the Walters for creating such a wonderful VRBO home.

Girls Trip
We had a great time. We loved the house and the details. We spent a lot of the time in the enclosed porch watching nature, playing games, drinking coffee and just spending time with each other. We explored Hattiesburg and Laurel. We tried to guess the history and people who lived there. It would be nice to have the story in a binder to be able to have read about it. Would love to come back and visit again.
