2 1/2 room holiday flat in a detached, typical Bernese Oberland double farmhouse (with mountain views to the south-west and out of the valley towards Wengen). 50 m2 living space on one floor. Newly renovated in 2015 (living, kitchen and sleeping area) and 2024 (shower/WC) and modernly equipped. Entrance area with corridor and stairs up to the flat, rear entrance at ground level. Separate kitchen with dining area, functionally equipped (fridge, oven, dishwasher, kettle, coffee machine, raclette and cheese fondue dishes). Living room with cosy sofa, satellite TV/radio. Bedroom with 2 beds (each 90 cm x 200 cm), 1 bed stool that can be folded out into an extra bed (for a fee), free baby cot for infants up to the age of 3 years, high chair (trip-trap). Shower / washbasin / WC (hairdryer available). The beds are made on arrival, bath and kitchen linen are provided. WiFi / WLAN. The construction is rustic with a ceiling height of around 1.95 metres and correspondingly lower beams. Balcony with mountain view and north-facing outdoor seating area with view towards Lauterbrunnen/Wengen, one table and 2 chairs as well as 2 deckchairs are available. Outdoor barbecue. Lockable room for sports equipment. Shared use of the laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer in the house. Year-round access by car possible, paved driveway and parking directly in front of the house. Non-smoking house. The valley station of the cable car Schilthorn - Piz Gloria and the bus/post bus station Stechelberg Schilthornbahn are within 5 minutes walking distance (approx. 500m). Free bus connection to Lauterbrunnen all year round from 2026. All taxes, fees and final cleaning are included in the rental price.
Good to know: The beds are made on arrival and are made up once a week for longer stays. Additional sleeping accommodation: fold-out bed stool (70x200cm for children, teenagers or occasional visitors), for a fee. Baby cot (children up to 3 years) free of charge.
Other kitchen equipment: Kitchen linen is available, 6 plates, cups, glasses and cutlery, toaster, raclette oven, fondue dishes.

A Vacation of Injuries

Very nice and clean. Wonderful location. Top grade appliances and accoutrements. Peaceful area. More relaxed location than Lauterbrunnen. Balcony is great for viewing the paragliding. Check in did not go well, did not receive detailed check in information just prior. Had impression I would be meeting local contact. Could not reach. VRBO’s AI customer service is beyond worthless. Stated I did not have a reservation and my email was invalid, eventhough, I had received paid in full confirmation to that email from VRBO. Found a QR code on the building, and that is how we linked to the local contact, which then led to us gaining access, however, we had no way of knowing if that QR code was even relevant to our reservation/booking prior. It was nice that worked out, otherwise we would have been literally waiting forever. Obtaining access should not entail gaining a merit badge in geocaching skills. In regards to the building: very positive except there should be a warning to not book for people over 6 feet tall. The ceilings in the kitchen are under 6 feet clearance if one counts the cross beams. Prepare on becoming a hunchback and wear a thick hat, because with the variable height ceilings, you will bash your head. Literally, probably over thirty times for me and I didn’t forget to duck, but it was often not enough. I am 6’3. If it weren’t for these two aspects, I would have given five stars, throughout.

Outstanding

From booking to arriving and then leaving the process was very easy. The chalet itself is stunning, photos I saw prior to arriving did not do the property justice. This is without a doubt the best property we have booked in Switzerland. Lauterbrunnen is stunning and has numerous restaurants and shops. Parking in town can be difficult, but there is a path across from the chalet that is a lovely cycle into town. I will book this again next year.

Easy Access

We loved the easy (5 minute walk) to the Gimmelwald lift and, if you have a car, easy access to the area for other lifts, trains, etc. The area is gorgeous! This location also allowed us to mostly stay out of the tourist mess that you will find in Lauterbrunnen. This property can be a challenge for any over 5 feet, 8 inches tall. I'm 6'2" and struggled at times with the low ceilings. This would not stop me from staying here again, however. The property manager was very responsive to any questions I had.

This place is perfect!

The warm hospitality and welcome gift are always a delight! The location is stunning! We love the flowers and so appreciate the washer and dryer! Everything is clean, beautiful and updated! We feel like we are coming home when we enter! The bedroom is large and spacious ,yet the whole place has a warm cozy feel, making this place our favorite stay in Europe! We are so glad it was available this year ! Thank you for consistently providing such excellence! We love this chalet!

Tolle Lage mit exzellenter Ausstattung

Die Wohnung liegt optimal fĂŒr ausgiebige Wanderungen, die alle in unmittelbarer NĂ€he starten. Zur Seilbahn ca. 100 m. Selten so ein sauberes und gut ausgestattetes Objekt angemietet!! Jede Woche Reinigung und neue HandtĂŒcher/BettwĂ€sche. Sehr netter Kontakt zu EigentĂŒmer und Objektbetreuerin! Absolut ruhige Lage. Wir kommen wieder! Unbedingt empfehlenswert: Rundflug mit dem Heli 😊
