Incredibly bad smell in room

The hotel is conveniently located near the train station and the staff was nice. But the room had a very strong smell that made the night terribly bad. Not even opening the windows helped dismiss the smell.

Good hotel in Linz

My son and I spent 4 nights on a trip to the World Rowing Championships. Hotel is 5 minute walk from Linz main rail station. Staff were friendly and spoke good english. Room and beds were comfortable with great shower. TV in the room is mainly austrian and german channels apart from Sky News. Fantastic breakfast with lots of choice from fruit, yoghurt, cereal, bread and cooked meat and eggs - all self serve including hotplate for frying. Hotel is in a quiet street and there's a minimarket across the road. It's a 10 minute walk to the main street/shop area and another 10 along it to the main square near the Danube. Note that most retail is closed on Sunday apart from Cafe/restaurants but the Spar in the main station is open for any general shopping. All in all we had a great stay in a pleasant small hotel.Thank you to the Lokomotive hotel and staff.

Think twice

Good location. Clean but I went for the Euro dog show with dogs and we had a room in the attic without a.c. asked for a fan but not available. Room was very hot for dogs. As we had to drive early with dogs to show ground Had asked if it's possible to have early breakfast at least a glass of orange juice and a bun with ham and cheese but refused they said at 6am so we left and bought something from nearest fuel station. Asked not to do the room but on my 3rd night the receptionist was a man insisted they have to go in the room I said when I ask not to go in the room they never go inside but he insisted that they need to go and check inside so had no option to let them in. There were 2 good guys who helped but 2 others did not. On another note they said I had 2 booking 1 from hotels.com and 1 from Expedia . I don't know how but I never used Expedia at least they cancelled it with no extra costs. But the guy at reception was angry at me and wanted to charge full amount if I haven't asked him to write them. t&c says you will be charged for 1 night if something happens and don't cancel before cancellation free date. Will think twice to go again.

Great location .. short walk from the train station. Walking distance to the Spar grocery store at the train station and the Unimart .. both full service .. literally across the street. Compact city center with restaurants, shopping .. and the Danube river cruise, many churches, museums, botanical gardens, and places of interest accessible on foot, tram, or bus. The InfoCenter in Hauptplatz Center has friendly and knowledgeable staff. Consider the Linz pass for visits exceeding a day or so. The breakfast was excellent, with a variety of offerings, kept well stocked by the hotel staff. Wifi was strong and consistent. Beds and linens were comfortable. The staff were most courteous, even bringing a fan on request when the Linz weather turned warm for a couple of days. We had a nicely rennovated room with a spacious bathroom, and adequate space for two people. There was construction with attendent noise and materials being performed during our stay, but was to be concluded in a couple of weeks after our departure. You can leave the room key with the rather large fob at the desk on going out for exploration. Be sure to lock your room door on exit and at night. The room door isn't self locking .. prevents lockouts, but easy to forget. Linz is an interesting city, and this hotel provides a comfortable place to stay, good breakfast, friendly staff, and logistical convenience.

Handy for station, currently being upgraded

We were looking for a hotel for 2 nights near the station. It's a 4 minute walk from the station, there's a supermarket across the road plus a cafe bar. The hotel has 2 sides, we were given a refurbished room which was spacious, clean and had a huge Shower room, the toilet was separate from the shower. Complimentary water was provided in the room along with a fan, which was greatly needed in the heat. We were on the 5th floor, beware, the lift only goes to the 4th and then you have to use the stairs for the final floor. The other side to the hotel is the old unrefurbished rooms. They looked smaller and old fashioned from outside. Complimentary buffet breakfast was included, there was a reasonable range on offer. Staff were friendly, we never used the bar or restaurant. Would stay again if passing.

„Gast sein, willkommen sein“ ist das Motto dieses familliengeführten Garni-Hotels. Das haben wir bei unserem Aufenthalt wirklich gespürt. Wir hatten ein geschmackvoll eingerichtetes, modernes und komfortables Zimmer mit schönem Bad. Fenster zum Hof und sehr ruhig. Hervorragendes Bett mit sehr guter Matratze. Alles sehr sauber und gepflegt. Jeden Tag wurden die Handtücher gewechselt und jeden Tag gab es kostenlos eine kleine Flasche Wasser pro Person, was in deutschen Hotels ja leider immer noch nicht Standard ist. Der Tag begann mit einem reichhaltigen Frühstück und hervorragendem Kaffee und endete am Abend auf der kleinen Terrasse vor dem Eingang in familiärer Atmosphäre. Großes Lob für das Personal, alle waren super und sehr aufmerksam. Besser geht’s nicht!! Die Nähe zum Bahnhof und zur Innenstadt ist ideal. Wir waren rundum zufrieden und kommen gerne wieder.

シングルルームに泊まりました。建物にエレベーターがありますが、私の部屋へは階段しかないと言われ、重い荷物を二階まで運ぶはめになりました。元からエレベーターが無ければ納得するのですが、自分の部屋だけ（同じ廊下はにシングルルームが並んでいました）となると損した気分になります。駅から近くて楽できると思って決めたのですが・・・。朝食は種類が多かったです。
