Our family thoroughly enjoyed the home! Comfortable, beautiful, immaculate, equipped with the right utensils and cooking tools. We brought our crockpot, so we could save time preparing our meal for that day to enjoy fishing and weather longer. Serene, peaceful, and an overall happy place to spend time! Was disappointed in our stay. Felt it was over priced for what it was. The location was great & had beautiful view of lake which is why I gave 3 stars instead of 2. Upon arrival we noticed stuff growing out of gutters which had obviously been there for quite some time, landscaping was overgrown, weeds by the lake area in back yard, and yard not mowed. There was also an odd smell in one of the bedrooms. It reminded me of cat smell and my husband said wet wood smell. There is wood accent wall in that bedroom and it had rained the day before so maybe that is what it was. We notified the owner of odor, missing trim, and few minor things we noticed upon first arrival as stated in agreement. The next morning we noticed towels had musty smell & we just went to local store to buy towels to use for our stay. We had issues with ants in kitchen and kept our food in air tight totes on the dining table. There was missing trim by kitchen sink and the ants were mainly around that window/wall and coffee maker area. I did not notify owner of the ants at the time because that seemed silly to message them every single time to have their staff come in every few hours to wipe down ants? It wasn’t a huge amount. It just was a nuisance so when we noticed them on kitchen counters, we of course would take care of it. Also, we had very busy schedule of outdoor activities entire time of stay so we didn’t want to change schedule to be there for a cleaning crew or not be there with belongings.

By far the best location and cleanest place we have ever stayed, location is directly on the lake , within a mile from stores and restaurants, extremely clean and comfortable, this place will make you want buy property there no lie so peaceful, and just and overall wonderful experience.

Very small, perfect for 2 or 3. Lots of spiders and cobwebs. Needs new beds. Husband had to sleep in the recliner. Owner was very nice. Couldn't use the hot tub as there were too many bugs! Beautiful view of the water!

Spring 2025

This was my 4th visit to Hocking Hills and I love it every time. We have always stayed in cabins along the way. We chose this cabin because we wanted to try out a cabin on a lake. It was a mother, (adult) son weekend so fishing was added to the adventure. We didn't have any luck but they were jumping all around us, so we know they are in there! This cabin is cute on the inside and very clean! It had everything you need for a nice relaxing trip. The owner was great with communication and check in/check out was a breeze. I will say the cabin is on a somewhat busy street with an expressway close by so there is a lot of noise while outside. But the lake view is amazing!! Old Mans Cave is about 25 minutes away, Rock House is about 40 minutes and Cantwells is about 15/20 minutes away. The cabin is very close to a Walmart and shopping. We really enjoyed our weekend stay!

Weekend getaway

Quaint lake cottage, easy checkin access with a responsive owner. Comfortable, welcoming and updated “ modern lake/farmhouse” decor with a beautiful lake front view. Nice place for a couples weekend getaway. We will recommend to others.
