Beautiful 2 bed apartment, tastefully furnished with breathtaking views.

Plaidy at The Moorings is a 2 bedroom holiday apartment in West Looe. It's a little holiday haven with the most incredible views.

The main feature of the apartment is the lounge with its beautiful bay window and the view! It's the perfect place to sit back, relax and enjoy the view of Banjo Pier and out along the coastline to Rame Head. Watch the world go by in East Looe town or watch the fishing boats as they come back in from the sea and land their catch in Looe Harbour. If you can tear yourself away from the window, a TV and DVD player are also provided in the lounge!

There is a spacious main bedroom with a kingsize bed, wardrobe and vanity area. The second bedroom is smaller, but also has wardrobe, vanity area and can either be set out with 2 single beds (2'6'' wide) or 1 kingsize bed, providing flexibility to suit your requirements.

The newly fitted kitchen is fully equipped with double oven, hob, dishwasher, kettle, toaster and a dining table for 4. This leads to a utility / drying area, which houses the fridge (with small freezing compartment), and a microwave.

Plaidy has a good sized, gated terrace area out the front of the building. This also looks out on to those great views. It is a perfect spot for enjoying your morning cuppa or alfresco dining.

Plaidy benefits from free WiFi access for all guests, and is located close to all of the local amenities of Looe. East Looe can be reached by crossing the bridge at the end of West Looe Quay. Alternatively, at high tide during the holiday season you can catch a small ferry boat across instead - then you really know you are on holiday by the seaside.

We would advise that Plaidy is a first floor apartment. It is accessed initially from the road by a little pathway up, but then there is a staircase leading up the outside of the building to our front door (as shown in the photographs). These steps are perfectly fine for most, but we do advise all of our guests to take care and hold on to the rail. Although the apartment is absolutely ideal for families, we would suggest, therefore, that it is not a great option for those with children under 12 years old. We also wouldn't recommend it for anyone with mobility issues.

There is no parking immediately outside Plaidy, but guests can choose to either pay to park on West Looe Quay, (just a short walk away and visible from the bay window in the lounge), or benefit from free on-street parking on Marine Drive just past Hannafore Point, which is just 5-9 minutes walk (depending on where you get a space).

We had a lovely holiday here, we stayed for 7 nights. The views were fantastic, although the climb to the apartment was hard for us because we are an elderly couple, but you are made aware of the steps but the views are worth it.the apartment was clean and tidy and had everything you needed, the water was lovely and hot for a shower, the bed was so comfortable it was better than the one I had at home, because I have a bad back, but this bed left me feeling much better on a morning. The kitchen is well equipped and the sofa is comfy.

Amazing views

Stunning views

Chosen for the window seat with views along the river and across the sea. Gorgeous, apart from the 3 days the next door apartment had scaffolding across the view that we weren’t warned about (the people downstairs knew). Plenty of parking nearby and easy walk to East Lois for shops and the beach.

Exzellente Lage

Eine sehr schöne Wohnung in bester Lage. Vom Wohnzimmer hat man eine herrliche Aussicht auf die Bucht von Looe und den Hafen. Die Wohnung ist sehr gut ausgestattet und sehr sauber. In Looe kann man alles bequem zu Fuß erreichen. Einen Parkplatz gibt es nicht, außerhalb von Looe (ca. 5 Minuten Fußweg) gibt es aber kostenfreie ParkplĂ€tze.

Nice location beautiful views

The apartment is perfect for couples or families with older teenagers. Due to the location you have to put your car a 10 minute walk away which is fine. It's worth it for the views. The apartment is nicely kept clean and as everything you require. The only criticism I have is that midweek. We had a family move in above us with small children and it was very hard to get any peace and quiet for all the banging and walking around above us.

Wonderful apartment with outstanding views. Not for the less mobile you need to be energetic to tackle the walk from the car park followed by the slope and precarious steps up to the apartment. However if you have the energy the views are very well worth it. The apartment has everything you need we were sad to leave

Fabulous location for a quiet getaway

PLAIDY sits proudly, high on the West Bank of Looe near the final bend in the river, with views in both directions and out across the beach. Whilst the external steps for access are a bit of a challenge the interior is well and tastefully appointed and welcoming. The beds are excellent!

Well kitted out and comfortable apartment lived up to expectations once hassle of 'moving in' had been overcome (drop off parking only and very steep steps). Great base for coastal path walking. Would recommend.

Beautiful apartment and love the balcony view overlooking Looe.

Spectacular views of Looe, amazing sun rises. Steps are steep upto apartment and you have a steep short walk up to it too but knew this before we booked, just bear this in mind when booking. Short walk to East Looe but also nice places to eat in West Looe, The Jolly Sailot pub, The Tasty Corner Cafe and Harbour Moon looked nice food but just had drinks there. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, thank you

First time in Cornwall

Great views to the Bay and estuary. Lovely bay window. Didn't realise the balcony was on a different level to the flat itself and being down the flight of steep steps carrying things up and down wasn't easy and so made the use of the balcony unrealistic really. Otherwise the flat was lovely. Plenty exercise up and down the ramp and steps and to and from the car etc......walked off all the great food and drink enjoyed in Looe

Fabulous views!

Access is difficult and not for the aged, infirm or Rhodes with young children! But you’re rewarded with stunning views and a lovely well appointed, compact 2 bedroom apartment, separate laundry facility and a shared sun terrace. Very enjoyable!!
