Relax in a hammock, take a dip in the cedar soaking tub, or grill out on the private deck at our stylish house. Take in the amazing views and quiet with the comfort of being only a few miles away from the beach. Inside this bohemian haunt, you’ll find opulent vintage furniture and a plush space replete with bespoke touches. This countryside two bedroom home is the perfect weekend getaway from busy LA. Fast WiFi makes for seamless Zoom calls and an enjoyable creative space.
The space
During these times the Topanga Ranch has implemented the following rules for the property that we require each guest to follow:
- please note that landscaping takes place each Tuesday from 2-5pm.
- Quiet Hours from 10pm-7am
- Pack house shoes or socks to keep your feet warm on the tile and wood floors.
- Bring your hiking/walking shoes. The Ranch has a trail onsite and there are additional trails nearby.
- Pack a refillable water bottle
- Don’t forget to pack your essentials!

Located off a private gated road in Topanga Canyon, you can find this opulent house amongst the beautiful Santa Monica Mountains and hundred year old oak trees. The house sleeps two couples comfortably (1 California King and 1 Queen size bed) and upstairs in the loft (2 single beds). The kitchen comes well stocked for your cooking needs, and features laundry facilities, and internet.

It's close to surf spots and hiking trails and nearby to Malibu and Santa Monica for fine dining but has its own full kitchen, two door fridge, espresso machine, coffee maker, stove, microwave outdoor grill, dishwasher and everything for enjoying meals at home.

You are welcome to use the entire home during your stay. We do ask that you do not wander to other dwellings on the property to respect our neighbors privacy.

About the Gate House:
- The Gate House is located on a private property that is gated. Upon booking, you'll be given the code for gate entry and code for The Gate House entry.
- Guests need to bring their own towels for the hot tub! We are unable to provide.

Respite in the green Santa Monica Hills
Our family of four ages 10 and up spend an easy 5 days at the Gate House. The host is super responsive - replenishing items right away (dish towels, flame lighter, extra candles, grill propane). The nature surrounding us was so peaceful to wake to and return to at night. The indoors is low lit (as pictured)...don't expect to read at night - but you will sleep well. No extra chores to do on check out - what a treat!

This location is extraordinary!
I had the privilege last year of spending Thanksgiving at this property. My husband and I along with my daughter spent two days on this property after a long winding trip around Southern California. It was a deeply memorable experience for us, especially being in the hot tub at night by the bonfire. We had guests over briefly for Thanksgiving dinner and they were inspired to see if they could find a place similar to this location in the area. I can’t recommend this location more Although I did have some issues with finding the right code for the door, because I had two different sets of directions and three possible codes. I completely forgot about that slight inconvenience until this review. Most definitely I’d recommend this for a stay - this place is magical!

This was a beautiful property and home. The views of the ocean mist were amazing. We truly loved the hot tub and fire pit. Topanga is a very odd, but dreamy place. We felt very safe here and had an adorable goat friend that kept us entertained. We will definitely be back in the future.

Hidden gem!
What a wonderful stay at Jennifer's property! The location was just what we were looking for - removed from LA, yet close enough for us to be in the valley and beach areas. The property is very charming and ideal for a family or small group of friends. The cedar hot tub with the mountain views was an experience, a relaxing way to soothe / heal your body and mind with the hills as a back drop! Jennifer, thank you for being such a gracious and responsive host! We thoroughly enjoyed our trip and will be back in the future!

A perfect getaway
