There are a few restaurants, shops and supermarkets within 5-10 minutes’ drive by car. The biggest attraction of the place is of course, the blissful Lake Lugano. It is possible to rent a boat and experience the lake from up-close. There are also numerous parks and promenades along the lake that allow tourists to soak in its beauty. Those looking to catch an even more splendid view of the lake and the landscape should take the funicular or hike to the summit and catch the rare sight of the panoramic vistas from Monte San Salvatore. Another such expedition could be to the Monte Bre summit which is often touted as Switzerland’s sunniest mountain.

The lake town of Lugano is also rich in history and culture. It has many Renaissance and Baroque churches, convents, palazzos and squares worth visiting.
