We recommend that guests bring their own sunscreen, bug spray and pool/beach towels if their stay includes water activities. Please bring your own firewood, or it can be purchased at the Page Farm Co-op (open hours permitting) or Walmart up the road.
Please come prepared- bring poopoo bags, dog bowls, toys, and a crate for your stay. We love dogs, but we don’t love poo :) Please respect our home and community and pick up all poop on and off the property. Pets are not allowed on furniture.
*Please note: For your safety we have an outdoor Ring doorbell camera installed at the front door.
Enjoy the locally-painted murals and beautiful river and pasture views along the Hawksbill Greenway- our favorite dog-walking/jogging spot just 5 minutes from the Barn. The Greenway makes up about 4 miles of paved trails bordering pasture, downtown Luray and the Shenandoah River. You are also welcome to walk your leashed pup up and down the dirt road.
Luray and the surrounding Shenandoah Valley have something for everyone. Nature lovers can take advantage of the beautiful Shenandoah National Park and famous Skyline Drive, various river activities, peach picking at Showalter’s Orchard, and other local outdoor activity vendors. For history buffs, the Valley offers attractions from various time periods, including (of course!) the Luray Caverns, Luray Depot and Railway Museum, various Civil War-era battlefields, and Cooter’s Dukes of Hazzard Museum. Other attractions include the local rescue zoo, Flotzie’s soft serve ice cream (just a short walk from the barn!), and an 18 hole golf course. During the fall visitors can enjoy pumpkin picking and a corn maze at Valley Star Farm. Foodies should take advantage of the Valley Cork and the local winery/cidery/brewery scene, local patisserie at Gathering Grounds, and food trucks/restaurants in Luray and the surrounding towns of Front Royal, Timberville and Harrisonburg.
