Overall ok - hotel and rooms need a bit of updating/ refreshing in my opinion. The first room I was in had several non working plugs. Second room also had some non working ones but was more usable. Staff was very kind and helpful. Location is good and within walking distance of the city centre and close to public transport.

My sons and I stayed for one night at the hotel Charlemagne so we could experience the city and the food culture it provided. We enjoyed the air conditioning the hotel had to offer in the rooms AAA we happened to hit a warm spell at the time of our visit. The lobby is fine, the elevators smaller than one might expect at a 4 star hotel, but all in all the photos of the facility are fairly accurate. It is a nice place to stay for the money you pay.

A good spot in Lyon

While a little "worn around the edges", this hotel is very pleasant. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Bed comfort is very good. We discovered a good bistro down the road - the midi-minuit - which actually closes at 10:30 (bizarre given the name). Looked at Georges bistro but was overcrowded and too noisy. If you arrive late, parking is free in the street.

I had a bad experience at this hotel with noise and cleanliness; to their credit, the staff made it right by letting me out of 3 of the 4 nights I had prepaid, so kudos to them. Still, it wasn't what I expected from their marketing material. It was more of a motor lodge in character. Also, the area is probably fine if you're there for the convention center, but access to any other part of the city requires a stroll from Part Dieu, the train station - sketchy at best.

Great Hotel in splendid Lyon

The Hotel was fabulous, clean and easy to reach. We loved our room with a great view, a hot bath and a strong WIFI signal. ...Not a 4 star experience !

​Nice hotel, comfortably located next to two Tram stops that could take you anywhere in the city. But overall NOT a 4 star experience. We bought a superior room which was not that superior with an air conditioning system that is from the past century because terribly noisy, and although warned by a clear and noticeable sign inside the elevator, a nightmarish experience for breakfast with a waiting line to be seated that took ages and work overrun personnel that couldn't have time to be nice and accommodate us the best of ways (although they surely tried).
