I loved the location of the hotel. Away from the crowded old manali yet near enough and with river beas next to it. Here are my pros and cons:
Pros:
1. Excellent and attentive staff who take very good care of you
2. Location is very nice. Clubhouse is nearby and the area is not crowded. River beas is right next to it. The garden is pleasing and there is enough open area for kids to be entertained.
3. Rooms are spacious and clean
Cons:
1. Bathrooms could do with more cleanliness. The bathroom shower curtain was very dirty.
2. We went in June and there were a lot of flies. The manager told us that this was only for a month due to the Apple orchards next door and also got our room sprayed but it takes a day or two to get used to them.
Overall I will recommend this hotel especially for families.
Highly mixed feelings. I booked the room at a great price and was quite happy with the view when I stepped by. The mountains on either side of the room, covered in snow, was everything I could wish for - right outside your window.
But there were major problems with electricity and heating.
Not sure whether it was just a temporary problem, but for a certain period, the generator was posing trouble.
Next, there were no geysers for bathing. Apparently, a solar heater was in place but it didn't seem to work and the water was still quite cold.
Finally, no room heating is included. A heater will cost you 400 INR per night. And I was fine with that until I got a wasted one that just wouldn't heat the room. It was snowing heavily and temperatures were running at around -3 degrees!
Saving grace, however, were the staff, and the food. Vicky was courteous and of great help. The in-house chef was quite great too. Make sure you have the tandoor-aloo-parathas there.
I won't stay with Treebo (in Manali) again. Too much pain. But if you want the best view out there in Manali, call them and confirm about amenities first.
