The Battenkill Valley Mansion is an ideal place for groups. Nestled on a private, 5 acre estate in charming Manchester Vermont, it sleeps 34 guests. Please reach Melissa at The Wilburton Inn, our award winning family hotel in Manchester VT, with any questions.

Ideal for DIY weddings, family reunions, ski vacations at nearby Stratton and Bromley mountains, yoga retreats, corporate offsite meetings, holiday gatherings and Big Chill weekends with friends. Larger groups can add on additional vacation homes or hotel rooms at The Wilburton Inn half a mile away.

POOLS:
Battenkill Valley Mansion guests can enjoy resort amenities at The Wilburton Inn, half a mile away.

The outdoor pool is open from dusk to dawn from Memorial Day to mid September. It is free and shared by all the vacation house guests and resort guests. Occasionally there are weekend black out hours for Wilburton wedding events. ?
The indoor heated pool, located in the nearby clubhouse, is open year round but only available by advance reservations.

From November - April, vacation house groups gety a free 1 hour private pool party swim. Additional time in the indoor pool is available for an additional $150/hour.

From May - October, the indoor pool is available for an hourly fee of $150/hr.

Other free resort amenities include tennis, Lawn games (Volleyball, Pickle ball, Tetherball, Ping pong, Outdoor giant chess and giant connect four and the Museum of the Creative Process Sculpture Exhibits


EVENTS, CELEBRATIONS & DIY WEDDINGS for up to 75 GUESTS:
There is an additional facility fee for all events.?34 guests: $1000 (Includes flatware, stemware, tables & white padded folding chairs.)
50 guests: $2500 (Includes the above. Event insurance required.)
75 guests: $3500 (You must rent a tent plus everything in the tent: flatware, stemware, tables & chairs, etc)

DOGS:
Bring Fido! We are so dog friendly, our Canine Concierge was on Animal Planet! All breeds are welcome. $125/per dog. Cats are not allowed.

CATERING:
We have a long list of caterers and vendors to help you with your events.
Earth Sky Time, our family farm provides organic vegetarian/vegan drop off catering.

MASSAGES: We have excellent massage therapists who can come to your vacation house.

CLEANING FEES:
$550 linens & $950 end-of-stay cleaning fee is added to all reservations. Housekeeping is available during your stay for an additional fee. There are 2 washers and dryers in the basement.

MANSION LAYOUT:?
GROUND FLOOR ENTERTAINING SPACES:?Commercial kitchen?Formal dining room and adjoining breakfast room seat 34 guests.?Ballroom is 800 sq feet. It is typically set up as a game room with a full size ping pong table, oversized chess table, table top foosball and air hockey. It seats wedding ceremonies and dining functions for up to 50 guests. We frequently host yoga retreats. The ballroom fits 23 yoga mats.
All furniture, except for the Victorian green velvet couch, can be cleared so that the space can be used for many other functions. ?Living room has a piano and large flat screen TV, 3 leather couches, overstuffed chairs, board games, books, and Bluetooth stereo.

Rm 15: TWIN Small room off of the living room. Shares the powder room and shower in the hall. ?Note: If you’d like us to roll up the huge ballroom carpet, then we use this room for storage so it can not be rented. We can add a cot in room 5 instead.

Tremendous for large groups

We had a wonderful time at the Battenkill Valley Mansion. The house is well equipped with everything needed for a fun family weekend with multiple generations. Melissa was super helpful with planning and check-in. The area is beautiful and we look forward to another trip.

Bathrooms Galore!

We were very happy with the house. My family was very happy that most rooms had their own bathroom attached. This was helpful when mixing young people and seniors. The house was clean and comfortable. Perfect for our family gathering. We played games on the front lawn and board games in the diningroom, took long walks and even went skiing. We had a great time.

This home is located in a beautiful area. We had more than enough room for multiple families. Plenty of gathering areas and large kitchen and dining area that we shared huge family dinners. Perfect spot for big family getaway

We had a very large (30+) family reunion group looking for a shared house in Vermont. The Battenkill Valley Mansion was the perfect fit. The grounds and shared spaces were a great for spending time together with family members from ages 3 to 70+. Melissa and the Wilburton team were incredibly helpful - not just with the rental process but also with great tips for hosting in the space and help with the general Manchester area. The rooms are spacious with plenty of bathrooms. And the kitchen/dining room were perfect for catered meals. We loved having access to the Wilburton’s pool and grounds too. I really don’t think we could have found a better spot for our group in the whole state!

Wonderful stay at this spacious, well-equipped and clean large house. The place has everything thing you might need for an extended stay. Communication with the owner was clear and accurate. This is a terrific spot for a large group getaway.

Just what we wanted

This big house worked extremely well for our family reunion. We had 27 people total. There was enough room for us to cook together, eat together, gather as a big group or in smaller conversation groups. We found a good place to work jigsaw puzzles, too. Wifi worked great. Lots of activities in the area. Nice to be able to use the pool and tennis courts at the Wilburton. The only drawbacks were that the house is a bit tired around the edges in a few places and it was too buggy in the evenings to enjoy the outdoor tables, fire ring, and gazebo. But overall, we had a fabulous stay. Thank you, Melissa!

BEST 60th BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION WEEKEND EVER!

Wow! Our stay this past weekend at the Battenkill Valley Mansion was beyond my expectations. From the moment we entered the house (all lit up and warm for us) until we left every single on of my friends and family could not get over how spacious , clean and perfect it was for this “party”. We sang and laughed and ate and drank in the large, comfy living room. We danced and played games in the banquet room. We sat down for dinner together (all 25 of us at one time) in the cozy dining room prepared in the kitchen. All of my guests commented on how comfortable the beds and bedding was. The house has everything we needed. We all want to find a reason to come back.

Fabulous destination

This Manse was ideal for our group of friends and family. Felt safe for kids and had great privacy for couples and families. The kitchen could use a wee bit of attention; dishwashers were wonky and ovens were uneven. The property managers are fabulous; very attentive, available at all times, and we were gifted some amazing loafs of bread from the farm.

Christmas Family Reunion

Our whole family gathered at this beautiful home for our family Christmas. The house was something out of a postcard with beautiful decorations, plenary of cozy space and amazing grounds for family hikes! Melissa was pleasure to work with and made the process of renting very convenient! It was a unanimous decision by my entire family to return next year! Such a wonderful experience! My extended family of 24 all enjoyed our first gathering since the pandemic at the Battenkill Valley Mansion. The spacious house and grounds made our multigenerational group visit easy and flexible. We were able to cook in the extensive kitchen; play games, do yoga, and puzzles in the ballroom; and chat in the huge living room. We built a fire at the fire pit and the hardy among us were able to spend a day and evening outdoors, roasting s'mores and catching up. The many bedrooms provided space for everyone. All in all a great visit, we can't wait to come back.

BIG Family Reunion

Everyone had a great time. We played inside and outside. Never a dull moment. Great place for all ages. We ate all meals here as the kitchen and dining was perfect for large group. Ballroom with games and ping pong. We danced the nights away.

The BVM was perfect for our large group of friends. Wonderful kitchen for cooking together. Plenty of indoor and outdoor hang-out space. Great location. We’ve already booked for 2021!

Awesome house for a big family get together!

I highly recommend the Battenkill Valley Mansion! We had a family holiday celebration weekend with 27 people ranging from my 3-month old niece to my 85- year old mother. The house was perfect! Everybody loved the bedrooms, which are larger than they look online. We enjoyed relaxing in the living room and in the family room by the fire. The kids enjoyed the ping pong table and basketball game. The kitchen is awesome. We cooked several large meals. The dining room is very spacious. We were able to eat together as a family several times. Most of all the "vibe" is very homey and comfortable. Everyone really enjoyed themselves and didn't want to leave.

5th Family Thanksgiving Reunion

This was our 5th Thanksgiving reunion with our family of 30 (including 16 grandkids ages 1 to 17 yrs. old). It has always been a great time with a lot of activities, including lacrosse, soccer, touch football, and fire-pit time outside and butter making, ping pong, basketball, wine tasting, and a huge Thanksgiving dinner inside with all gathered around tables in the game room. The old house was in better shape than previously with some new improvements and very clean. It is a grand old house for large groups with a bathroom in 13 of the 14 bedrooms. All of our family members, young and old, look forward to our time in the Mansion.

Fantastic Family Reunion at a Fantastic Location

Our family has been enjoying the warm hospitality and great location for our 4th weekend reunion.The Mansion provides both indoor and outdoor room to relax , enjoy and to have great fun regardless of age. The fire pit is one of the features that really brings the family together as we gather round in the evening in the glow of a warm and inviting fire. The kitchen is great and provides the capabilities to feed over forty people in a very family atmosphere. The bedrooms are warm and spacious. Also we take advantage of the Wilburton Inn for overflow . The staff is on call to assist in any way and provide a very high level of service.All in all a great place ,with great people, with great views ! Looking forward to our 5th anniversary next year.

Amazing place, amazing owners!

A wonderful, spacious location in a gorgeous location; convenient to everywhere but far enough away to feel like you are out in the country. The rooms are spotless and well maintained, the kitchen top-notch and the house had plenty of space for our large (25+) party. Highly recommended.

Perfect location and property for a large family reunion

The house was perfect for our large family of 30 people ranging from 21/2 years to 86 years old. Most of the bedrooms had a bathroom and there was a first floor bedroom for anyone who had difficulty with stairs. This house was comfortable and pleasantly decorated . The rooms seemed to be soundproof and even though we had a large crowd you felt like you were the only ones there when in your room. The Levis family are delightful and made us all feel very welcome. even though the house is seperate from the inn you are made to feel welcome at the pool or at breakfast. We had breakfast there one morning and it was delicious especially their French toast ( best I've ever had!) we attended the farm to table night and the food was delicious, music was excellent and worth going to. We were really close to the town , hikes, shops and other activities. Manchester is such a beautiful town . We will definitely be going back there.

Great property for a large group

What a great place for a large party/event! We rented it for my wife's 40th and had 30 guests each night. The house has a very comfortable lived-in feel to it. There is no worry about enough sleeping quarters or bathrooms! Kitchen was set-up well to be able to cook for a large group. The house is big enough that we had groups of guests all doing different things around the property at the same time without "stepping on each other's toes" (relaxing in the gazebo and front lawn, visiting with each other and doing a puzzle in the sitting room, siting by the fire, playing ping pong and dancing/singing in the game room). Located close enough to town that it is convenient, but just far enough outside that there is privacy. Many enjoyed outdoor activities during the day with hiking, biking, fishing, and shopping all centrally located. Staff were excellent and responsive throughout our stay. We will be looking for another excuse to gather the group and go back!
