Overall we felt the setting is overpriced and has several inconveniences. The property is quiet and well kept, and the office staff is helpful and polite; great positives. The hvac on the houseboat is the new super quiet splitters, which is excellent.
The house boat is very small (size of a hotel king room) and the poor layout of the rooms makes it worse. There is no aisle to move around so only one bed has direct access to the bathroom. The passageways between the beds and walls are super narrow to the point that you cannot carry luggage or bags without lifting them up above the beds. The indoor table barely fits two meals.
The plumbing is highly problematic: all drains are super slow, sink fills up in a minute, shower in five; incoming pressure is very low, making washing hair difficult; the toilet is not a normally flushed toilet, which made it mentally impossible to have BMs for some. There is no housekeeping of any kind, and the only tool that’s given is a broom, and you can’t use your own products due to the septic tank so you effectively have no way of cleaning anything other than dishes. There is a limited number of outlets and no extension cord, so even making coffee was tricky. The boat and any noisy dongle outside move significantly with north wind, to the point of motion sickness and impossibility to sleep for some. They don’t clean the lake water by the house boats, so it looks and smells gross with the rotting algae and some trash. Paring is somewhat narrow.
