Fly Fishing for Trout on the Elk River is just a few minutes away!!! The creek on the property flows into the Big Spring Fork which forms the Elk River.

2 miles to Snowshoe's Entrance at the base and Golf Course.. Beautiful Log Home on 9 acres for rent by owner. Creek with Waterfall on property. 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. Private HOT TUB!
Very easy to get to unlike some homes in the area.

Recommended to sleep 6 adults and 2-4 kids on full bunk beds and day bed(more than 8 total will forfeit your booking) . 50-inch Flat Screen TV with Amazon Fire Stick with Home Theater System. Speaker system for playing your favorite tunes.. Large Lodge Style Fireplace. Wrap around decks and covered porch. Very private and cozy. For those that just can't get away, we have WIFI....Highspeed Fiber

No check in is required because their is a key lock box and you park right outside. Linens are included in all rentals.

Attractions/Activities are Golf, Mountain Biking, Hiking, Fly Fishing. Kayaking, NRAO, Cass Scenic Railroad, Seneca Rocks, Spruce Knob, Blackwater Falls and of course Snowshoe! Seneca Rocks and Blackwater Falls are a good drive but worth it.

Easy to access but 4-Wheel Drive or Snow Chains are HIGHLY recommended during the winter in case of a big snowstorm.. Short 10-15 minute drive to the slopes.

Well appointed cabin. It had everything we needed. We came to relax with our dog and it was perfect. So peaceful and quiet. The grounds were very nice to walk around. We enjoyed the fireplace every night. We didn’t ski but we drove up to Snowshoe - it looks like it would be a very convenient location for skiers/snowboarders.

This was our second time at the Moose Lodge. Very clean and the view is wonderful. The Snowshoe region is our favorite area in WV, the hikes on the Scenic Hwy are beautiful. We had perfect weather all week. Jim is an ecellent host, always responds quickly. We highly recommend a stay at this cabin.

AMAZING! Hot tub was awesome, location is quiet and beautiful, the deck was lovely, kitchen had all we needed. It was great - highly recommend! The only issue - which is not the host’s fault - there is no cell service anywhere around there so print out driving directions! Your cell’s gps wont work for about a 30-minute radius of the home.

Can't beat the hot tub with the views!

This was by far the best airbnb we've stayed at. Very accommodating and clean. Jim was very quick to answer any questions we had.We were a group of 6. 4 adults, 2 kids & 2 dogs. There was plenty of space for all of us. Dont forget to check out the little waterfall on the property. Its not a far hike at all. The trail can be easily missed if you dont know its there.If you walk down from the firepit toward the hot tub & turn left theres a partially mowed path. Keep following the path to the forest. Youll hear the water. The views were spectacular! The sun sets over the mountains in the backyard which was pretty to see.Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us!

Memorial Day at Snowshoe

Another family getaway up the mountain for Memorial weekend 2025. The cabin was well appointed and located just the right distance away from the activities our family enjoys most. Hot tub has an amazing view of sunset. Owner very responsive. No complaints or concerns; thanks for a great visit!

Nice and clean. Plenty of trash bags, paper towels, toilet paper which is always nice. Good easy distance to Snowshoe. If they get snow before/during your trip I would recommend 4WD. Great stay thank you!

Fantastic stay

This adorable cabin is picturesque and a fantastic hub for your snowshoe adventures. Easily view wildlife like deer as you drive or walk the area and sip some coffee as the sun comes up over the mountain. The kids loved the bunks and being dog friendly means our boys were comfy there too. The host was lovely and tried to prep us for everything we needed for the stay.

The cabin had everything we needed to cook and sleep . We came late in October so a lot of restaurants weren’t open n snowshoe . The drive to cass was beautiful and train ride was awesome . Would do this again but when places are open to try local food.

Charming Cabin

A groups of college friend and I booked this charming cabin for a long weekend getaway and we loved it! Very comfortable beds, very clean and modern kitchen, wrapround deck with gorgeous view. The wood burning fireplace and enormous stack of firewood were most welcome during the chilly nights and mornings. The waterfalls weren’t running much due to the drought and I would love to see them when they are full flow. The privacy of the property was much appreciated
.it felt like we were deep in the country although there are neighbors down the road. I would book this charmer again
.I wish Pocahontas County were closer for me but we picked as a central location for all of us traveling from several states away. I’m imagining the place in other seasons, particularly in winter when there is snow on the ground. Snowshoe is just down the road!

Family Vacation

Nice place to stay. Very quiet and secluded. No view, like the photos show, because of tree growth on the property. That was disappointing. The trail to the falls had a tree down right at the entry so could not walk to the falls. And, the other access had grass grown up so preferred not to walk it. Fully stocked kitchen. Plenty of towels and washcloths. Mattresses old on queen and double beds but tolerable. It is 30 minutes from Cass RR. And about an hour and a half to 2 hrs from a major town like Elkins and Lewisburg. We would stay there again.

Vacation in WV

We had a very nice stay at the cabin. We stayed 3 nights. The cabin was furnished very nicely and so quiet. We were only about 11 miles from the Cass railroad and some great hiking at Snowshoe a few miles away. The cabin was relatively easy to find but hidden away enough to have very private surroundings. The host Jim provides a very nice package of information about the cabin and the surrounding area that is very helpful. We look forward to visiting again. Perfect get-away

If you are looking for a quiet place in the mountains to unwind and unplug, this place is for you. The view is spectacular, cabin was clean with fully stocked kitchen. Thoroughly enjoyed our time there!
