Private Guesthouse w/Kitchen - Minutes from Uptown
Welcome to The Blue Door on Mulberry! This private guesthouse is on a centrally-located lot at the front of Martinsvilleâs Mulberry neighborhood. Maintain your sense of privacy while still being close to everything Martinsville has to offer. The property is less than 5 mins from the Martinsville Uptown District, under 10 mins to the Martinsville Speedway, under 4 mins to the SOVA Hospital, and walking distance to the Virginia Museum of Natural History, Piedmont Arts, and more! This space was lovingly renovated and its highlights include: a kitchen for cooking meals, a dining area for two, a 50â Smart TV with steaming, a dedicated workspace w/ coffee, and a stunning black-and-white bathroom. The guesthouse is tucked away at the back of a large lot behind a main house so it offers plenty of privacy. Youâll have a dedicated parking spot with your own separate entrance to come and go as you please. The lot does back up to the woods and if youâre lucky you might just see a family of deer in the early mornings! Please Note: The guest house is located on the second floor of a detached garage, so taking a small set of stairs is required to access the unit. Please keep this in mind if you have any mobility concerns related to stairways. You will access the guest house by driving through a long shared driveway that is in between two houses. We are the red brick house to the left of the driveway. You wonât see us unless you need us. We are generally very hands-off hosts, but we can be available if you need assistance with something related to your stay.
The place was super cute and comfortable. It was super clean and inviting. Decor is awesome. Kitchen well stocked. Bed was comfortable. Only bummer was that the creamer had been expired for over a year, the sugar was on the hard side, and the body wash dispenser was empty. All minor things so great stay overall!
This was a lovely little stay for us. We were traveling with our dog, so we needed somewhere to accommodate us. I would say this place is a bit more pet tolerant than pet friendly, but we were able to make it work. It was clean, efficient, and cute to boot. As others said, the stairs are a bit steeper than expected, but not unmanageable.
Had a great stay at Morgan's place! The guest house was clean, had everything we needed, and was a great size for two people. Morgan was really communicative and checking in/out was a breeze. We took a day trip to Hanging Rock State Park, which was less than an hours drive away. Got to enjoy the exhibit at Piedmont Arts (walking distance) and the Food Lion down the street was convenient. Highly recommend!
We were in town looking at properties. The apartment was super cute and suited us just fine. Morgan has the apartment decorated nicely and it was clean. I was a little surprised to see the steep steps that lead to the apartmentâŠ.it probably mentioned it in the description, but I overlooked it. Folks need to be aware that there are steps that lead up to the apartment. We enjoyed walking thru the neighborhood. There is a great park right down the road where we walked our pup. Morgan was very responsive and helpfulâŠ.you MUST check out her coffee shop, The Ground Floor!!!! So fun with live music, food and great coffee!!
I absolutely enjoyed my stay! The unit is small, but has every necessity covered.
The kitchen has everything needed to prepare a meal (pots, pans, dishes, glassware, flatware, etc. ) The bathroom was equipped with a nice shower, toiletries and hair dryer. A comfortable bed with soft linens made for a pleasant night's sleep.
