Unresponsive with no heat or hot water
Unfortunately, we had no heat or hot water, and the owner was not very responsive.
I had to contact VRBO to get a phone number as there was no response from him through the app. Once he finally responded, he suggested a few things that WE could do to fix the issue that unfortunately did not work. His last response was he was away in Boston and couldn’t help us. We had a wedding and several events with no hot water for showers or heat for a chilly weekend. I asked for a refund and VRBO said the owner needs to take responsibility for that and once again there was no communication or response from him.
My suggestion is to make sure you have a backup plan just in case the owner is unresponsive, and he should think about hiring a management company to handle responding to guest and property issues.
