Summary:
Welcome to March Cottage. A cosy yet spacious property on the edge of the Peak District National Park, in the Victorian spa town of Matlock. Recently renovated you can be assured of the perfect ‘home from home’ feeling.
The Space:
This centrally heated cottage is arranged over 3 floors, with steps leading to the main entrance. On the ground floor, there is a well equipped kitchen /diner with an electric cooker, gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. From the kitchen you have access to a private patio, with separate laundry and secure bike storage. The living room has a wood burner – ideal for those cosy winter nights and there’s also a smart Tv with freeview should you wish to enjoy a night in. The main bedroom on the first floor has a King size bed which can be made into a twin room on request. Although not provided, this room has ample space to accommodate a travel cot with ease. On the first floor you will also find a luxury family bathroom with a free standing roll top bath and a luxury walk-in shower and heated towel rail. The second floor has two bedrooms; the first is a double with ensuite, and the second bedroom has a single bed where you can enjoy views of Matlock, Matlock Bath and Riber Castle from the veluxe windows. The property has gas central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. The garden is equipped with garden furniture and bike storage is available on the premises. On road parking.

Take a leisurely stroll along the River Derwent, enjoy the views of the surrounding hills, or explore the quaint shops and cafés. Hiking and Walking Trails are in abundance in the area, there are numerous scenic walking routes nearby, including the Derwent Valley Heritage Way, Lathkill Dale, and the High Peak Trail. Matlock is also a great base for cyclists, with routes for both leisurely rides and more challenging mountain biking, particularly in the Gritstone Trail and around Carsington Water. Alternatively, wander through the town, with its charming mix of independent shops and cafés and enjoy a pint in one of its traditional, characterful pubs, or simply admire the local architecture.
