Guatapé is a tourist municipality in the Andes in northwest Colombia and east of Medellín. It is famous for its houses decorated with colored bas-reliefs. It is located near the Peñol-Guatapé artificial reservoir, a very popular water sports center. La Piedra del Peñol is a giant granite rock located to the southwest of the town and which has a long staircase to its top, where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the area.
