We stayed at this property-having booked 5 days at a premium price— thinking it is a 5 star hotel as advertised but the pictures are misleading. Apart from the reception area, the hotel is really run down, unsafe, with significant wear and tear, mold in the bathrooms with dysfunctional drains, stained carpets, walls and floor. The overhead shower doesn’t get hot water, the tubs don’t drain. In many cities, they would have forced the hotel to close due to health concerns.
The hotel needs extensive renovation which they are apparently planning in the future. No cosmetic touch up or cleaning by crew will resolve their issues. We looked into changing to another room but it was all the same. The rooms are big but not maintained and the bathrooms are especially disgusting. The location of the hotel is good as it is 10min walking distance from the prophets mosque. Breakfast was decent.
The management offered us a free meal after we complained to them. The manager, Mr Basim eventually promised to refund a day of our stay. This has not happened so will see.
Overall, it does not deserve a 5-star badge and it is shocking that they are an intercontinental hotel.
