Best hotel experience I have had in Mexico: beautiful building right in the heart of the capital city and the country, magnificent view from the terrace, and most helpful staff. Breakfast was not great, but there are excellent cafes close by (Cafe de Tacuba, Cafe Popular, for instance). Our room was super clean, comfortable, and spacious even if it was not one of the suites facing zócalo, which must be spectacular but certainly well above my means. All in all, I highly and totally recommend this breathtaking hotel.

Beautiful and historical hotel right on the main square (Zocalo). The room was very large and comfortable for 2 friends. The rooftop bar/restaurant looks over the main square, including the Cathedral, and it was amazing. I highly recomend and would stay here again!

I spent the final night of a 12-night trip to Mexico City and San Miguel de Allende at the Gran Hotel Ciudad de Mexico, located in the Historic Center with a fantastic view of the Zocalo from the rooftop restaurant.
