Check in was a little difficult. Had to track someone down to check in and was disturbed that everybody’s credit card info was just laying on the front desk in the open and accessible to anyone. Room was ok for cleanliness but air conditioner was taken out and no screens on the windows to get air without the bugs. The water in the shower smelled something awful which stunk up the room a bit. 2 guard dogs barked at any movement which gets old after a while. The place served its purpose for me since I was gone all day and just needed a place to sleep. A lot of disruptions with moving furniture and banging in other rooms. A lot of improvements need to be done before I would ever stay here again. Cute name though.

I am sorry we did not meet your expectations. I did speak with the manager about the credit card info and we implemented a different process for them to use. It was so cold and windy here last week we did take window air conditioners out, but the bathroom windows have screens and open fully, as do the big windows by the beds and the screen doors. We are located on one of the iron ore ranges in the Upper Peninsula, and with the geology sometimes the water does have a sulphur smell, but we provide all the individual bottled water guests ask for to drink. We also have a water softener for both hot and cold water. if you would have told me, I could have spoken to noisy guests to minimize disruptions.

When I arrived to check in, there was loud music blaring from the room behind the lobby and no one to greet me. There was a note on the desk to press button if no one was available, but there was no button to push. As I was trying to figure out how to get help with checking in, three people walked out from the back, all very surprised to see me. They only came out into the lobby because they were about to head to the store, not because they had a customer to help. The woman who helped with check-in was having issues getting the credit card machine to work and used quite a bit of profanity due to her frustration. Meanwhile her two friends stood in the lobby waiting for her. One of them was a very drunk younger man who was stumbling around on crutches and kept talking to me. At one point their dogs got into the lobby and the drunk man stumbled around on his crutches yelling at them trying to get them back in to the house and other woman tried to help him...all the while the loud music continued to blare from the other room. The issue with the credit card machine required someone to come from over an hour a way to fix it, but it did get fixed so I was able to come back and pay a bit later, but the entire time I was waiting initially was a very unprofessional and unpleasant experience. While the rooms are clean and comfortable, they need to address the issues at check in. I have stayed here previously and expected a better experience this time. Not sure I'd stay again

I'm sorry for unpleasant impression there was a family emergency. We'd like for you to call an explain every issue an your worries to the office, 906 323 6144. The young man was injured on his left foot from working, so I'm sorry you had to see him stumble around we had to go to the emergency room for his foot. an the other person was family. I apologize again for your first impression, we literally keep everything professional,an organized as much as we can an the dogs are friendly but very protective so the man had to scare them or they'd bite some body.

It is a bad place to stay unless you want mice in your room, leaky toilet, cabinet falling down, waiting long time for hot water, no fuel to cook on grill, office stinking like urine from cat or dog possibly both, no room if you don't hold room with credit card. No help from staff if they don't want to deal with you & will hang up plus not answer door. I would never ever stay here again nor recommend anyone else to stay here either. It is not worth it. I also had to deal with not being able to see by where you lite a campfire & dog crap all over

Beds were hard, Pillows flat, had a messed up neck for 2 days after staying their. The office smelled like cat urine, toilet leaked, mouse infested, and our family members from out a state made a reservation their, called twice to make sure it was reserved, when they got their they had sold the room to someone else, shut the lights off and wouldn't answer their phone. Left an ax out by woodpile major safety issue, gas ran out of their grill they let customers use. It was horrible. Worse place I have every stayed.
