Niman House is a fishermans paradise, river front on the beautiful Juniata River

Breathtaking views of the Juniata River from inside the home or from the two exterior decks. Amazing bird watching opportunities with lots of waterfowl and resident eagles. Our getaway is located along a popular walking/biking road that dead ends at a historic Canal House but continues with a walking path along the Juniata River. This cozy retreat is situated 2 miles from the Arch Rock Road exit off Route 322. Within 1 mile to either the Midway Drive In Theater and flea market or the PA Fish Commission’s MIfflintown boat launch. Located 4 miles to MIfflintown which hosts many dining opportunities, pubs, retail stores and groceries. It’s a mere 7 miles to Lost Creek Golf Course and 8 miles to Port Royal Speedway. For the die hard Nittany Lions fans it’s 42 mile drive to Penn States Beaver Stadium. We have kayaks, rafts, floats and fishing equipment rentals available. (PM for details)

We had a wonderful stay at the Niman House. The house itself was lovely, very clean, and well appointed. It had everything that we needed to make our stay enjoyable. The view of the river was beautiful and excellent for watching birds. The hot tub was clean and relaxing. The location was an easy drive to Mifflintown for groceries at Weis Market. Lewistown was also nearby with even more shopping and dining opportunities. We will definitely consider staying here again.

We enjoyed staying here so much. Beautiful home and property. The hot tub with the views amazing. We spent a good chunk of time in there. The kitchen had everything you would need to cook there. The house was very clean. I loved the decor. So much to look at. We found the cutest commons store right down the road. They had coffee, decor, pastries, bread, etc. I got the cutest stop light birdhouse from there to bring home as a souvenir. It was an hour and a half from Gettysburg so we did a day trip there and explored. All in all it was the perfect getaway. If we ever come to the area again I would definitely book this place a second time. The only thing we struggled slightly with was the mattress in the master bedroom towards the back of the house. It was not the most comfortable. A mattress pad may be helpful. Now take into consideration, we have a sleep number bed at home so we are a little spoiled. My daughter liked her bed in the main floor room by the living room. This is not enough to knock any stars off the stay though. I would still stay here again even with the same bed. Thanks Delma!

Beautiful property and a very nice house with enough privacy to sit outside at night with a fire, have some beers and listen to music without disturbing the neighbors.
