Unable to stay because of damage
I did not enjoy my stay here, in fact I didn't stay here and it was the worst vacation I have ever experienced. We arrived at 6:02 p.m. on Saturday, April 1st. When we arrived, there was a tree that had fallen across the porch entrance and you couldn't get in; the tree was too big to move and it completely blocked the entrance to the cabin. I immediately called Vacasa and they said they were sending someone to cut the tree. However, during the fall, the tree had knocked down part of the railing on the deck, damaged the gas grill and one of the gas canisters was knocked over under the damaged grill. I didn't know whether or not gas was escaping and didn't feel safe. My 70-year-old brother finally managed to crawl under the tree onto the porch. We weren't sent the code to the key lockbox, so I had to call management again to get the code to access the key to get inside the cabin. After finally getting the code, my brother went inside the cabin. He came back out and said, "We don't need to stay here, this look like a roach place. Someone is trying to make a lot of money off of cheap lodgings." There was not room in either closet to put your clothes; one had a washer and dryer in it and the other was stacked to the ceiling with plastic storage boxes of the owners personal belongings. The furniture was not what was shown in the pictures. My sister, who crawled under the tree said the furnishings were very "sparse and cheap". I did not enter the cabin because I was speaking with the Vacasa representatives, trying to send them pictures of the damage, asking for another place to stay and finding out when the tree man was supposed to come and remove the tree. I asked for other lodgings three (3) times, but was told that someone would come and cut the tree out of the way. I tried to explain that I had three senior citizens (73, 70 and 65); two with heart conditions and one with a back problem and that they were exhausted after a six (6) hour drive. The local manager would not budge and get us another property that wasn't damaged. She said she was getting someone to come cut the tree out of the way and that was our only option. I finally told her I wasn't staying and left. She called me to let me know that I would not get my money back. However, a nice young manager from Florida called me the next day and after hearing of our experience and the refusal to find us alternative lodging, he refunded my money. The whole experience was horrible.

Beautiful view
The house and furnishings we great, the road to the property, not so much. A heads up about the one lane gravel road to property might have decreased our trepidation. Very scary for flatlanders

Cozy mountain home
This cozy cabin was perfect for our weekend getaway! My husband, shih tzu, and I arrived and were very impressed by the cleanliness and coziness of this mountain home. The bed in the primary bedroom was very comfortable and the owners have the cabin fully stocked with all conveniences. Can’t say enough good things about this stay!
