We had a great trip. The house was in a great location to Blue Ridge. We loved the outside fireplace, the kitchen had everything we needed. Would definitely stay again.

We had a wonderful time at Whiskey Blue. The layout was perfect for our family and the kitchen was a dream. It was the perfect setting for family time to relax, reconnect, and make memories.

A nice getaway

Overall the cabin was beautiful and comfortable. We enjoyed the hot tub and viewing wildlife. The driveway was a challenge, even with our full size pickup we needed to use 4-wheel drive due to the large ruts and washout. The master bedroom was stunning but because it was located upstairs we opted to use the one bedroom on the main floor, the bed was very comfortable and worked well for us. The Nest thermostat was a bit frustrating because the temps outside were quite cold, when we set the Nest to 70 degrees it would reset to "Eco" 62 degrees while we were out and about during the day. Overall a great place to despite the minor issues for us.

Nice Christmas get-away

The cabin was decorated very nice for Christmas! Our arrival was warm & welcoming, and the layout was perfect for two couples and two dogs. We made good use of the outdoor fireplace and TV and having the wood available to burn was nice. While there we baked cookies and cooked festive holiday dinners. The beds were very comfy and the linens/towels were all clean and great. Minor drawbacks... The cabin was a little dusty in places and there were a lot of dead bugs on the kitchen window and on the bottom of that window sill (perhaps cleaned following another rental and left empty for a couple of weeks?) The kitchen had all the basics, but at this price point (and renting another Escape to Blue Ridge property at a similar price point just a month ago) we expected a little more than just "basic". All in all - the good outweighed the drawbacks and our family enjoyed the cabin and made nice memories while there.

Overall a great relaxing stay, just small things I may recommend! The windows in the bathrooms definitely need a shade since in the cooler months you can see straight to other cabins from those windows. The sun beams into the living room through the side windows by the tv so maybe some shades there, and a sun shade on the grill side of the porch would be awesome for day time outside by the fire! I know this is a dog friendly cabin but the under neath of the couch needs sweeping/vacuuming major. The drive way is HARD to get up unless you have 4WD or floor it(needs a good grading or pavement). And we had to pull some chairs from down stairs for seating by the fire because there is only seating for 4 but the occupancy is 6 so there wasn’t enough seating on the couch in living room or outside in the living/lounge area. Everything was clean and spotless except under the couch, loved my welcome gift as well! If I booked again I may go with the other cabins that is just like this one just without the bad drive way! Also loved the full body mirror in the upstairs bathroom!

The cabin itself was beautiful & decorated tastefully. However, We had a bad experience in getting to the cabin. We arrived at 6:15 at night after driving for 5 hours. We could not get up the gravel driveway (which was very, very steep) & was deeply rutted & washed out. We tried at least 6 times to make it in our Hyundai Sante Fe but could only make it halfway before sliding back down. I called Escape to Blue Ridge. I spoke to Tina who was very helpful after I explained situation. My husband & I are both 70 & could not walk up the driveway as I had hip replacement surgery recently & he had knee replacement surgery in April. Tina got a maintenance worker to come out to the cabin & transfer all of our baggage & groceries into his truck which made it up the driveway. My other guests (two sibling couples both in their 70s) were expected right behind us. My husband’s twin sister & her husband also could not make it up the driveway in a Nissan SUV. Luckily the maintenance man stayed &.transferred all of their luggage & groceries to his truck. The only couple who made it up the driveway had a 4 wheel drive pickup truck. Tina told us that she would get in touch with the property manager to have the driveway scraped. Workers showed up the next morning & scraped the driveway & we could finally drive our car up the driveway. The birthday weekend for my husband & his twin sister started off on a bad note but the rest of the weekend was fine.

Beautiful, clean and quiet which meant the world from our everyday hustle. Unfortunately getting there at 1pm instead of 4pm wasn’t great. I called after 10.5hr drive with our dog and the cabin was ready but wasn’t allowed to get in any earlier than 2 for an extra 50. Was really disappointed in the money grab! Got back at 3:35 with groceries in hand and was still locked out until exactly 4, couldn’t help but to laugh and sit on the deck for the next 25min.
