Our one-thousand acre property is set in surroundings where Aotearoa is as it used to be lush, unspoiled and natural. A slice of paradise. Gentle Annie is an ideal place to get off the beaten track to experience New Zealand's untamed wilderness and truly appreciate the South Island\u2019s West Coast. Bounded by the Tasman Sea, the mighty Mokihinui River and beautiful ancient bush, our seaside accommodation is a peaceful place to relax and enjoy time away from the busy life and provides a great base to explore our stunning region.
Centrally located in the Northern West Coast, Gentle Annie is near places of interest where day trips will get you north to the magnificent Oparara Limestone Arches, the Kahurangi National Park, the Heaphy Track and south to the Chasm Creek and Charming Creek Walkways, Punakaiki Pancake Rocks, the Denniston Plateau and the Cape Foulwind Seal Colony. We are on the doorstep of the new Old Ghost Road mountain-biking track in Seddonville!
In any season, enjoy time at Gentle Annie. It will nourish your soul and awaken your senses.
Such a special place, we enjoyed fishing, swimming in the river, surfing and also a hot tub at the campsite under the stars. We loved the area so much we camped an extra night at Gentle Annie's too. Can't wait to come back!
We booked a spontaneous trip to this place and are so glad we did. We and two other families stayed. There was plenty of room for the 12 of us and each family got a room each with plenty of room to spare. Two nights wasn't enough and we look forward to returning in the future.
Thanks for having us!
River swimming and beach just a walk away, bush walks along the Old Ghost rd to swimming holes, pack rafting, and Denniston mines great for a visit, sunsets, fire on the beach, and fishing all part of the experience. Great for our extended family holiday. We had fabulous weather but pack your bug spray just in case. Good Kiwi Bach-like facilities, we felt right at home. Plus cowshed had great coffee & muffins.
Great location which is walking distance to the estuary and a short drive to the surfcasting beach. Excellent property to accommodate a large group - kitchen and dining in particular caters well. Nice views from the house to the estuary and West Coast sunsets. I will definitely return.
I had 13 of our team come and saty for a couple of days just recently and I got great feedback from the team on the wonderful experience they had during thier stay. The owners accomodated a few changes we had and also provided a little extra with regards to making our meeting work a little better. All ameneties were clean and up to a great standard. We were also impressed with the scenery and the ability to go and fish/eperience the coast right on the doorstep. It was so good, that the team including myself are now loking at booking this venue for our own private events in the future. Well done!
