Our Double Room was basic to say the least. The Mattress should been changed 20 or 30 years ago, was so lumpy, with springs poking through, thoroughly uncomfortable, plus the pillows were cement hard and lifeless.
The en-suit was so compact and they did well to cram in a Shower, WC and Basin, sized for children! The Shower had a Mould above and below it. Electrical socket was coming away from the wall.
However the breakfast was good and the Bar and restaurant area were nice and the staff were very good.
Very good, great evening meal and breakfast, friendly efficient staff.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
Although the room and bathroom decor was a little tired, the room was clean and tidy. Staff were very friendly and breakfast was excellent. Will definitely be staying again 👍
Room and plumbing tired although plenty of hot water and clean.
Staff all very good and great food.

Liked: Staff & service
Room furniture was very old fashioned, and room was freezing cold, no heating came on till 8pm, then didn’t heat up well overnight, was still cold in the morning, when set to 5 all night.
Breakfast roll to go was lovely, didn’t eat there

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Typical of the area which has average accommodation mostly rooms in pubs, the food is pleasant pub grub and the rooms are fine. Good value for money
Lovely staff, can’t do enough for you. Evening meal was ok but breakfast was very good.
The car park is a nightmare to get out of if you arrive when it’s full and dark.
The bedroom was very cold, and bathroom was even colder. I appreciate it’s a very old building, but you can’t argue that the place is a little tired.
Considering the room rate, I was shocked.
The hotel is located just off the A303 which makes it very convenient as a stopover to or from Plymouth ferry. The place is lovely, staff are friendly and very efficient. The food is just fantastic, great menu with some interesting tasty dishes. The only issue we had was with the bed. The mattress was very tired and soft, which wasn’t that comfortable. Saying that we would definitely go back as the rest of the stay was just lovely.
