The best thing is the location: right on the beach! It's quite old and a lot of it is outdated and even deteriorated, but very live-able. We didn't eat at the restaurant so we can't comment on that.
When i arrived they tried to over charge me from my online price and not give me the room i paid for. My room was very dirty, they lied about free breakfast. Thanks to the female house keeper who cleaned my room everyday and made me feel a little better.
internet en la habitacion no estaba,e tenia que estar,el cable tv no funciona cuando llueve,el desayuno incluido no existia,en la habitacion el armario tenia polvo
I donât know where to begin, but the fact that we couldnât even sleep in the bed because it was SWAMPED with roaches, the bathroom was dirty, the floor was dirty, the water in the sink would not go down and had stains all over. Disgusted and in disbelief that this hotel is listed in Expedia. We did not sleep all night. We were visiting Montecristi in business and we were embarrassed that our staff of 3 people had to go through this horrendous experience.
LOS EMPLEADOS MUY AMABLES EL ĂREA DE LA PICINA MUY LIMPIA Y BONITA
LO ĂNICO QUE NO ME GUSTO FUE EL BAĂO DE LA HABITACIĂN ,HAY QUE DARLE MAS MANTENIMIENTO.
So happy with the experience! The hotel is very low key. No frills! The prices were very reasonable from drinks at the bar to the food. We were the only non-Dominican's in the hotel so we felt immersed in the local culture. It is a popular place for Dominican middle class people to vacation. If you are looking for something fancy.... this is not the place. Stay in Puerto Plata of Punta Cana at an all inclusive if you want to be that pampered! If you are looking for a lot of tourist shopping, don't stay there. There are no gift shops in the area. If you are looking for a lot of people speaking other than Spanish, don't stay there. If you are looking to unplug and be around a lot of friendly people who work hard to earn your traveling money stay there. We had the same server and same maid the whole 9 days that we stayed there. We used Google Translate to help when our Spanish was not good enough to understand. Check-in and check-out went very smooth. We were given a discount for using cash! Be sure to ask or ocean view rooms. The hotel was built in the 1930's so the rooms are different sized. The staff did a great job of constantly cleaning the common areas of the hotel. If you don't like your room, just ask to change. The management was very easy to work with. There is a ocean view suite that is not much more. If it is available, it is worth it! The pool was clean and cool temperature. The beach next door to the hotel was a local Dominican favorite.
