We paid for an oceanfront view and got reviews of nothing but rough and equipment. Half of the resort was shut down due to construction. We were not notified before or after booking which included half of the amenities of the hotel and resort, which is why we chose to stay there we’re not available to us. We had a really poor experience at check-in. Our original room was under construction and the beds weren’t even upper put together so we had to wait around in another hour and to try to get a new room of which we were given a room that was not oceanfront like stated before I had views of the rooftop with all of the ventilation and air-conditioning equipment. Overall, I would say I had very poor service and definitely did not get the vacation we paid for.

Waitress were overallvery good but unfortunately, after parking my car on the hotel property thinking it would be safe. On the return to my car the windscreen was broken. My husband and notified the security team and asked how can this happened whilst we were guest. They told us we parked at our own risk. I have been to several other hotel and this had never happen especially knowing our car was parked on the hotel's car parking. Nonetheless, the food was cold and not alot of choices. Juice were also hot and we had to constantly asking for ice.

The beach was okay. The room needs some facelift. I know the hotel is going through a construction process, and I can't wait to see the end product. Some of the 🍸 staff tend to be rude. The 🐈 seem to roam the hotel like they're the owner. Can't blame them the name Catalonia speak volumes.

So starting from the top of the list and going down upon arrival, we were putting the wrong room after specifying at the front desk what room we had reserved and paid for then being confirmed that yes that was the room we were booked for and then arriving to the incorrect room. We called down to the front desk and inform them that they had given us the wrong room. They apologize and said they would send somebody up with new room keys and help us move our luggage to the correct room four hours later after waiting around for said person to bring new room keys up And wasting our afternoon I called back down to the front desk and told them we were coming down with our luggage and belongings to get the new room keys. They said we couldn’t because they had already given them to somebody who was supposed to be bringing them to us. upon finally getting the new room keys Are you getting situated We realized it was still the wrong room, but didn’t call back or complain and just may do with it. We were supposed to have a queen ocean view room. With a separate living room that had a pullout bed with the couch we ended up with a double partial ocean view room and they pull out couch. Had a horrible old nasty mattress with no sheets nor pillows call down to the front desk to ask for a set of sheets and pillows for the couch never received them. The next issue we faced was the shower leaked everywhere causing serious slip and fall hazard i myself fell twice. And we had to use multiple towel

This resort is beautiful. The proximity to the airport is great. However, the staffs are incredibly rude. Front desk and the Guess service desk were friendly. The rest, dining, bars, etc. not very friendly at all. You can’t even ask a simple question that you either get an attitude or they completely ignore you. We thought it was just us, but after chatting with some other guests, they had the same complaint. We were not impressed with the quality and variety of the food either.

I understand the hotel is going through a merger, from Holiday In to Catalonia ,so I expected a few things might not run perfectly. I stayed during the summer, and there was quite a bit of ongoing construction, which made certain parts of the stay a bit inconvenient. For example, we didn’t receive fresh towels daily and had to go to the pool area to get them ourselves. There also weren’t enough umbrellas around the pool, which made it difficult to find shade. However, overall my stay was very nice. The food was great, and the staff were wonderful—always friendly and very apologetic about the construction. I can tell they’re working hard to improve the property, and I look forward to seeing the finished updates in the future.

Overall, the experience was a good one. The staff minus the agents at check-in were top notch. Food was excellent. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The beach was great! Kudos to Otis and Bob at the beach bar!!! The staff at check-in needs to be more aware of how they treat the clientele especially local residents.
