Catalonia is directly on the ocean so that’s a huge plus; however, the resort is OLD and needs updates and repairs throughout the resort. Both elevators closest to our room were NOT working the entire 5 days. Buffett was fine and the food was fresh. The Buffett area was clean and the restaurant staff were friendly. Our room was cleaned daily and the a/c unit kept the room very cold!!! Bottle water was provided in our room daily by the resort.

My stay overall was good. Food, service, drinks, and entertainment were all good at the Catalonia. But the overall appearance needs updating in the rooms. Had a great time and enjoyed the Jerk Bar😋.

Excellent resort location with 180° of ocean view. A very staff friendly atmosphere with great selection of food at the buffet. Plenty of tasty Food. A gated property with 24 hour security. No night swimming. Add the beach party to your to do list.

wifi was terrible even in the lobby. jerk shack and employees were great. they need to allow local crafts people on the grounds in certain areas to help the local people. The chairs in the lobby and jerk shack were very uncomfortable, could only sit there a short time. Gym was closed the whole time we were there for rennovations-bummer. We had a maintenance guy check our AC, It was better, but ran non stop. hot tub could be warmer. Nice pool and liked the island.

1st. The first impression represents the hotel and its staffs. Mostly of the securities are very rude, especially the female securities; they need more educational training on how to speak to a guests politely and respectfully. Their behaviors are you are bothering me. 2nd. The assistant manager Dalton was not accommodating, he behaved clueless when asked to rectify unsatisfied issues, he seemed like his body was at work, but his mind was elsewhere, blank like a pieces of paper. 3rd. Check in wasn’t smooth, began with checked into a room that was not completely cleaned, but the beds were made, as if it was a quick turnover because it was spring break. The bathroom shower curtain was dirty and the bath wasn’t cleaned. 4th. There are too many cats freely roaming the restaurants. While dinning you would be greeted by cats. How can it be sanitary to have silverwares and napkins on unoccupied tables with cats wondering around for food. Overall, I should say the bellmen were all professional, welcoming and respectful. The young ladies on the front desk were beautiful with their smiles and with great professionalism. The food choices were great, many options for different cultures. Some wait-staffers were very attentive, while others approaches were directed to the guests that usually leave a tip. The bartender Bevione was great. The bars needs more mature male bartenders, and not the hyped, loud and shopping for a mate personality.

The service was not great. Every request made me feel like I was being a nuisance even when making simple requests like ordering a drink at the bar. Service is also very slow. The overall cleanliness was also not great

It’s an old Holiday Inn, much will be needed to make the rooms more modern. Additionally the property needs a new coat of paint. The food was good generally. Very nice staff and service.

The outside of the hotel is beautiful, we love the area where you can walk away from the island like a little island. As for the rooms they definitely need to be upgraded. Breakfast was tasty specially when you select Jamaican cuisine however for dinner not so much Jamaican food. Staff was super friendly and helpful.

The hotel was clean, but definitely stuck in a time warp—think 'grandma's house meets 90s motel chic.' The front desk staff? Yikes. I’ve gotten warmer greetings from a vending machine. The highlight was the little island you could walk to—super peaceful—and housekeeping deserves a gold star for keeping things tidy every day. But let’s be real: even if they offered me a free stay and threw in a fruit basket, I’d still politely sprint in the opposite direction.
