Spent a week here with my husband. The staff was amazing, made sure we were enjoying ourselves. The food was great, plenty of beverage choices. There is no true beach, but you are able to walk to the resort next door and use their beach. Plenty of free daily water activities as well as nightly entertainment.

Very unpleasant hotel with low level service.

My experience was extremely bad, upon arrival the presentation of the lobby was poor. The room they has put us in was tacky and had the smell of mold. The food was terrible we got stomach upsets. The managers and supervisor were unprofessional with little customers service skills. There was no refrigerator in the room, only a bottle of water given upon checking in and for the duration of our stay no water was provided to our room not even by housekeeping. The Service was extremely bad. I will not recomemed any person to book into this hotel. This hotel is below 1star.

Worth Every Dollar & More

We were highly impressed with our stay at Decameron. The All Inclusive Resort provided Great Food, Drinks & Live Entertainment every night. Our room was in the original Decameron and only minor setback was the bathroom's bathtub & tile needed updating otherwise the bed was comfortable and clean. Decameron's beach property was Awesome & it was permitted to visit the newer resort beach as well.

The hotel is in need of some updating.

Pros: The staff!!!
Cons: Access to a beach! Knowledge about things that are around. Was not aware of the public beach right next door or Magarittaville, a 5 minute walk.
Location: The location was perfect! Very close to the airport. All the things that you can do require about an hour drive.
The staff at the hotel are the best that I have ever experienced. It is too bad the hotel is not in better condition. They could really be a gold standard with a little work.

Great hotel right on beach

Pros: Relaxing plenty of lounge chairs and areas near beach, on beach and quite places to lounge all over resort.
We enjoyed the food ,drinks and water sports . Staff was very helpful and pleasant . We would stay here again. walk into to town was safe...we were approached by many people but if you say no thank you they respect that.

Very disappointing.

Pros: Beach area had plenty of chairs and mattresses. Gym facility was good. Ladder ball, corn hole, horseshoes, pool, darts & ping-pong available.
Cons: Just about everything needs improvement. Service, entertainment, watersports, airport shuttle should be offered.
Location: Watersports facility is inconveniently across the next property. Hobie Cat costs $5/person. Kayaks available. Stores within walking distance.
My husband and I travel often. We have experienced a variety of conditions. This resort was not the right choice for us. We booked a garden view room 6 months in advance. There are only 5 of those rooms and 2, including our room, do not have balconies. When we asked for a balcony, we were told there were no other garden-view rooms available so we would have to upgrade for $20/night. There were no maps of the premises, and no general information about restaurants, towels, watersports, etc. Food was typical buffet in dining room. Service was terrible in all the restaurants. The grill restaurant constantly ran out of forks. There were a couple of activities at the pool, but not all the activities listed on the Activity Board. Nightly entertainment was loud, repetitive and not very professional. On floor 3, housekeeping cleaned between 3-4pm so there was no time to rest in the afternoon after a day in the sun. Beware of the surface around the pool! It gets very hot and slippery.

wonderful staff

The experience was amazing but mainly because of the staff. The front desk staff were friendly and very helpful. They always smiled and put a smile on our face; and managed to help with any issues or direct us to the right location so we could book our tours. Mike and the entertainment staff were very friendly, funny and entertaining. The rooms need upgrading. But I would recommend this hotel mainly because the staff make you feel at home and the their hospitality was the best I ever experienced!
