The room was clean and quiet. Decor and furniture a bit dated. Breakfast was cereal, pastries, and toast. Would have like to have had fruit as an option. Staff was super helpful about restocking any food that was empty but it had to be requested.

Close to freeway

Pros: Close to freeway
Location: Santa Cruz, Monterrey, Capitola - need I say more.
Perfect spot - easy on and off freeway and right in between Monterrey and Santa Cruz. Very clean and friendly personnel. Would stay there again !!!

Surprising

Pros: Nice and clean, extremely quiet.
Cons: maybe more lighting leading to the hotel, though that would be up to the city I'm sure.
Location: Go whale watching in Moss Landing, and then eat at Phils.
So usually I'm pretty good about reading reviews before actually booking a room. In this case I booked 1st, then read the reviews. I was pretty worried and almost cancelled but decided to give it a chance. We got there to the hotel at night and it is in a dark area, so was a bit on the dark side and scary side (per my wife). The hotel however was definitely no were near as bad as the reviews I read. Room was nice and clean. Definitely worth the price we paid. I'm so glad that I kept our reservations (2 rooms), and I look forward to booking again in June.

What a difference a name makes...

Pros: STAFF WAS NICE AND HELPFUL
Cons: EVERYTHING
Location: THE ONLY THING I LIKED WAS THE LOCATION, THAT IS WHY I CHOSE IT IN THE FIRST PLACE. NOW I HAVE TO FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE
I had stated at the former RED ROOF INN on average 4 times a year for 11 years with my LAB. Due to loss of my own, I had not been in 2 years. They SOLD to a company I had never heard of and now charged more for the room, charged a PET fee which I never had before. Walls were filthy. Carpet and upholstered chairs were dirty. They said they were renovating. I had to ask how to use key card, it was blank on both sides. I had to ask how to turn on TV. (You have to turn it on and SCROLL) and the A/C was so loud we coun't leave it on without it grinding every 7 - 10 minutes have the night, so we turned it off. SO disappointed. Location was what I needed a good hotel for. NOW, I have to find new hotel. When I booked it was told $89 plus tax. OUT THE DOOR WAS $129.00. NOT WORTH IT!
